If you changed your name, how much of a PITA was it at the Social Security office? It's nearly impossible for me to get off of work for a whole day (thats not a federal holiday!) to tackle this.
How long did it take when you went there to change your name? (I would mail it in but I'm not sending in my only copy of my driver's license )

Re: Married Ladies!!! I have a question....
DMV took me about 20 mins at the Garden City DMV
Social Security took me about half an hour in Mineola
Both are within 15 minutes of each other.

Re: Married Ladies!!! I have a question....
Social Security was a breeze for me! Took about 15 mins!
DMV was a big PITA! I tried going there first but they told me I needed my new SS card w/ my new name before I could change my name on my license. I was so annoyed because I know people that have changed their license first before SS. I guess it depends which office you go to...

Re: Married Ladies!!! I have a question....
I went to the SS office on a Friday and I had to wait about an hour but the process took less than 10 minutes.
I then went straight to the DMV, had another hour wait but the actual process was about 20 minutes.

SS in Jamaica took 5 mins- got there when it opened at 7 am. Dmv- 1/2 hr got there when it opened at 8:30. If you get to these places when they open maybe you can just go in a little late.

I went to the Social Security office in Mineola. I did it on my lunch break and was out in 20 minutes.
ETA: I went to the DMV after work (they have 1 late night) in Bethpage. I was there for about an hour.
