Re: married life/living together ques....
We lived together for almost 4 years before getting married so nothing really changed. I do know that my cousin and his wife never lived together before the wedding and they had a hard time adjusting. HTH.

You are definitely not alone.
You would think after being together 8 years, you would know everything about someone, but that's not true at all!!!
It'll be 4 months in a few days, and we're still getting used to it....very slowly!!

ME!! We both lived with our parents unitl we got married. Things between the two of us are great, but I never realized how much work it would be to work full time, cook, clean, do food shopping, etc..... Here I thought I would have more time on my hands and now I find that I don't have enough time to do anything! Its just a little overwhelming at first.

we lived together before we got married... HOWever I can remember perfectly that when we first moved in together it was not all peaches and cream...there were many things to get used to... It all falls into place! Give it time!

We lived together once we got engaged and it took us a good 6 months to work through the kinks, its not easy, but it does get better.

Re: married life/living together ques....
so funny, because alot of girls have said that the first year of marriage was always difficult. but we've done 6 months already and no problems! we both lived at home until after the wedding cause we wanted to stay traditional and surprisingly enough, no problems or fights at all. of course there's the everyday bickering about who gets to hold the remote and what we're gonna have for dinner, but other than that it's been bliss!

ME!!! Its a lot hard than I anticipated. We both lived with our parents until we got married. So, its been hard adjusting. I think over the past few weeks its gotten slightly better, but its definately been an adjustment. We are still learning each others habits, schedules, and ideas about finances. I am glad to hear that I am not the only one!!

Me too. Marriage is really tough, Its a 50, 50 thing, and when one person is giving 100% is just doesnt work. My DH is a slob, I mean, a slob is a polite term for him. Theres a mess all over my house,I mean, he doesnt throw things in the hamper, he puts it on the side of the hamper (b/c its just too much effort for him). He thinks the dining rm is his bedrm, and often leaves clothes, clean & dirty inthere, deoderant, cleasirl on the table. a glass a milk, he cant even put it in the sink. He mosses the garbage inthe bathrm, he leaves the tissue on the floor. He never cleans, and rarely vaccumes, he always used to do the cooking since we moved in together in april, and he doesnt even do that. He is going to be 29 end of Jan, and I will be 24 in beginning of Jan, I am going to school FT, and getting unemployment, and right now he is only working Pt. I have hours of hw each night, and my weekends are dedicated to hw, and Its so hard to juggle school, hw, and clesning the house, and dont ask me whats the laundry situation, because i have to do like 2 loads of laundry at least every night . . . I just dont get it. He borught all the habits (the bad habits) from his parents house, into my house! He's a slob, and a real grouch at times. . . so yes, right now Im having adjustments, b/c he seems to think ,I'm suppossed to do everything!
Im 24 almost and I got the world on my shoulders, thats what it feels like! In conclusion, its alot tougher than i reslly thought it would be, But evrryone says the first yr of marriage is the hardest.
Anyone have advice, FM me!

WOW! Have you talked to DH about it? He's got to share in some of the responsibility!

he doesnt listen when i talk to him! if he did, he'd share some of the responsibility! im gunna make a chore sheet, split everything in half ,and put it on the fridge! either that or leave a nasty note in his car! lol . . . sounds like a good idea to me!

Re: married life/living together ques....
Thanks ladies! I feel so much better knowing I'm not the only one.
I'm guessing its difficult for me because I'm 29; I had my routine and now everything is changing...different name, different bank accounts, different address......etc etc.
Plus I lived with my parents my whole life........even though there was some fighting at times....I liked seeing them everyday. I especially miss chit chatting with dad.
At least I am lucky to have an understanding hubby......(he didn't freak out when he saw me crying last week...)
Have a good Monday!

No. Only tough time I am having is getting DH to put his d@mn socks in the hamper rather than scattering them all over the place

Re: married life/living together ques....
surprisingly, no. We did not live together before, and somehow we settled right into it, it felt like nothing had changed, it was weird!
