I really don't want to give up my last name! But I will for FH, I know it's important to him! I just got adopted by my step-father 5 yrs ago (had to wait until I was over 21 for child support issues) and I love having his last name, I wanted it for so long! And once I'm married my first and last name will kinda rhyme with eachother. I'll be the next Marcy Darcy or Julia Ghoulia.

I have been waiting 21 years to get rid of my last name!!!!! It's horrible! I got so much bs in school growing up with my last name!

yess i'm in the same situation as you!! my last name is too long (9 letters) and i'm always repeating it cause no one gets it the first time around...LOL..i cant wait for a short last name!

Yea I will take his name but I haven't practiced writing it. I mean how often do I write my own name? Not that much...

I still haven't decided if I will take his name. He doesn't care either way; but he understands that I have all my professional credentials under my name that a name change will just be a hassle.
I am thinking of hyphenating. We both have really ethnic last names and they sound good together.
I have practiced writing it though.

yes, I'll be taking his last name- i'll be soooooo relieved to get rid of my last name- i got ridiculed in school because of it. His last name sounds good if pronounced properly (w/ spanish accent), which I don't have But i'll work on it!!
