Well, it came and went…like a flash like everyone says. We've been married for 3 days and I still can't wrap my head around it all. I'll post an official review once we get some photos back, but I definitely want to shout out some great vendors:
Pedestals - WOW. I think my favorite part of it all was the flowers. They truly enhanced the room and the theme in such a perfect way. The flowers were fresh and perfectly arranged…everyone was in awe when they first walked into the ballroom. Joseph was amazing to work with from day 1 and I am SO glad we chose them.
Afresh Approach - Jeanne was wonderful to work with from the moment we met her and their truffles are incredible! I'm only sad that we didn't get to have any of the truffles ourselves because our bridal party ate them all!!! We will be going back there for holiday desserts for years to come.
Kleinfeld/Amalia Carrara - The Amalia Carrara dress I chose was by far the best decision I made in this entire wedding. I could see it on everyone's faces that they were stunned at how beautiful it was…even I was in awe! Kleinfeld made the dress experience fun and easy. They were super accommodating and I would recommend them to anyone in a heartbeat. I've heard so many negative things about other bridal salons, especially in regards to alterations. A lot of girls complain about their alterations fee, but clearly, if you want the best you need to pay for it and it's certainly worth every penny.
Bridal Styles Boutique - It's a trek for some of us to go all the way to Brooklyn, but it was SO worth the drive. Great selection, great staff, fair prices, great quality. I loved my headpiece and it was much less expensive than other headpiece designers on LI. It was such a pleasure working with them.
Hank Lane's L'evation Band - We were skeptical at first when we weren't able to hear the band live, but they truly wowed us at our reception. The band was incredibly talented, engaging and easy to work with. We gave our songs in very late and were told they probably wouldn't be able to make some of them work, but when the day came they did everything they said they couldn't AND did an amazing collaboration with our bagpiper! They were fantastic and everyone loved them.
A Modern Day Affair - Shauna was great and was always there to help things go smoothly. We had a very difficult and large family/bridal party so I can only imagine how difficult things were for her, but if we didn't have her so many more things would have gone wrong. I don't know how anyone can get through a wedding without a DOC, so call her if you don't have one! Also, the package they gave with the Photo Booth was an amazing price and the Photo Booth was such a big hit at the wedding, everyone loved it!
Marcie's Cakes - I COULD NOT BELIEVE MY EYES when i saw the groom's cake Marcie made. Not only was it truly a piece of art, she captured every detail perfectly AND it tasted phenomenal (and still does days later....moist and delicious!!). There is no doubt in my mind she is the best groom's cake vendor around.
Also a shout out to Brides By Lauren and Christy Ann Cosmetics for making everyone look stunning! They are truly talented artists and made everyone feel beautiful.
So now that it's all over, I am in a post-wedding depression. Two days after the wedding when the chaos had settled, i woke up that morning and basically cried the entire day, thinking about all the things that went wrong or all the choices I made that I regretted. Did anyone have this too? Maybe i'm just a perfectionist and i know my expectations were really high, but I just felt so sad that i couldn't really enjoy my wedding, and that i had so many 'regrets' after all was said and done. I'm slowly getting over it and having so many people tell us that it was the most amazing wedding they've ever been to has helped, but I can't seem to shake myself out of this funk. Any advice/shared experiences with this?
Edited to add one more vendor rave...

I was a bit depressed after my wedding because I felt like I had nothing to do. You go from soooooooo busy all the time to having so much free time. I didn't know what to do with myself.

I'm not really sad that it's over, i'm just depressed thinking of all the things i would have done differently. It seems like a lot of people feel that way though and you just have to kind of deal with it..nothing can be perfect and we set such high expectations for the biggest day of our lives.

I know exactly how you are feeling. We left for our honeymoon 2 days later so I didn't have time to have a big breakdown but I definitely relive the day and I focus a lot on minor things. I was also wondering what was going to happen next and I felt like I went though most of the motions of the day. There is not much advise I can give you. I try to focus on the positive things and not let the little things bother me.
Congratulations!

I'm glad i'm not the only one, i seriously have been thinking something is wrong with me! I feel like i'm supposed to be happy and excited and on cloud 9 but i feel TOTALLY opposite. Maybe once I get the professional photos back i'll feel better about everything. I feel like we should have gone on an actual honeymoon or mini moon right after because that probably dulls rehashing all the issues. What can you do though right? At least hearing from our guests that it was incredible and they had an amazing time makes me feel a bit better.

You are NOT alone!! I feel the same exact way as you do. Although I am SOOO happy my wedding is done and over. I wish I could relive that day again and do things diffrently. I was very disapointed in the church, my venue. MY Monster in law caused major drama at my wedding. My food was wrong ( Im a Vegetarian) and I wound up throwing up my food. and no it wasnt because I was drunk bc I had one drink. I have so many regrets. and I keep telling my mom that I am so depressed about my wedding.and she thinks I am crazy. Dont get me wrong I AM SOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO Happy I married my husband. Its just all the work I put into the wedding I didnt feel satisified. I hope this feeling changes. I am RIGHT THERE WITH YOU GIRL!

NO ONE tells you this is how you'll feel the day after…i wish someone would have. I never expected to have so many regrets or wish so many things were different. But in the end, like you said, we married the men we love to death and that's really what matters, and what we nitpick, none of our guests even noticed. We set our expectations so high because it's the biggest day of our lives. I wish i had gone on a honeymoon right away because at least i would be occupied enough to not obsess over them. At least we're in it together lol, and it'll take time but we'll get over it. Did you get your formal pictures back? Did that help or make the feeling worse?

Well some things actually went wrong (our limo guy doing the shuttle locked the keys in the party bus and our guests had to wait over a half hour after the reception ended in the lobby and outside while they drove spare keys out to us), and other things were more things i wish i did differently.

This has been my biggest rollercoaster.
I got my pictures about 3 weeks after our wedding. I loved them all. Then the more I looked at them, the more I noticed some must take shots missing (I didn't have many to begin with). I tell myself its ok and then I have dreams about and I get cranky. I have finally gotten over some of my disappoint over the photos once I realized that I am having trouble narrowing them down for the album. Overall you need about 15-20 photos from each part of your wedding.

I'm super concerned about this too. Because of time restraints, we neglected a lot of shots that i was hoping to get, especially at the venue itself. Everything was rushed. My biggest upset was that before we left for the ceremony, i didn't get to open my fiancé's gift and read his card. Nobody reminded me…and we were so rushed i felt like i didn't have time to do ANYTHING. I had to open it the day after, and it was so heartfelt and beautiful i cried so hard, moreso because it would have been so much more special if i had been able to before we got married. I wanted a picture in my living room of me fully dressed and i didn't get to do that either. I guess you just need to accept it and move on right? What can you really do about it? As long as you got pictures you loved, that's what matters. I try to tell myself that so many other people hated their pictures and video and i know that i'll love mine because Janelle and Chris are amazing. But the what if's haunt us…and that sucks.

From somebody who was lucky enough to be a guest at your wedding, I have to say that I certainly didn't notice anything that went wrong! Of course you're going to be your worst critic and I didn't see any of the behind-the-scenes stuff that went down, but from a guest's standpoint, your wedding was PHENOMENAL - definitely one of the most fun I've been to! And you looked so amazing, I still can't get over it.
I'm sure it's natural to feel somewhat let down after everything is over and that you wish you could have enjoyed it more, but it's hard when you have so much going on and you're basically a celebrity for the day. But in the end, like other girls said, you're married to the love of your life and that's the most important thing! No worries. Your wedding was amazing.

I had a few issues I heard about the day after the wedding and ended up emailing my BM right before the honeymoon. Am I disappointed that everything was not a b s o l u t e l y perfect? Yes.. but I just focus on the parts that I know were above and beyond my expectations and the vendors who worked really hard to make sure my day was great! & at the end, I'm married to the love of my life and no matter what went wrong, nothing can change that!

There are definitely little things that didn't go as planned that upset me. But I decided, not to let myself focus on those things too much and just put it in perspective. Overall, it was absolutely an amazing and magical day. Just remember that the point of the wedding was to celebrate your love and focus on that.
