Thanks, Colleen!!! How much TP is required, and do the guests have to use just TP, no tape, etc.? Are the creations judged, and who does the judging? Mary MOB

Re: Mary MOB needs your help girls!!

I hosted my sister's shower a few months ago. Everyone seemed to like the games that we played. When each person arrived, we put a sticker on her back with the name of one half of a famous couple (Lucy & Ricky, Fred & Wilma, etc.). You had to ask Y/N questions to figure out who you were and then you had to find your better half. The first five couples one a prize. It was a great ice breaker, especially for people that didn't really know the other guests.

Later, we did a purse scavenger hunt. Each table competed as a team to get the most points by finding certain items in their purses. More obscure items had a higher point value. Each person at the winning table got a prize.

During the gift opening, we set a timer at random intervals. The person whose gift was being opened when the timer went off got a prize. We had extra of those prizes, so after all of the gifts were opened, we gave the people who had not received a prize a word scramble with all wedding related words as a second chance game.

Re: Mary MOB needs your help girls!!

For you, Mary, sure.

I don't remember all of the items off the top of my head, but here are a few to get you started:

- Expired driver's license . . . . 5 points
- 1979 penny (for the year the bride was born) . . . 2 pts
- Cherry Chap Stick (it had to be cherry and it had to be chap stick) . . . 3 pts
- Dental Floss - 2 points
- Red Lipstick - 1 point
- Library Card -- 3 points
- Gym membership card -- 2 points
- Preferred customer card -- 1 point
- Breath Mints -- 1 point
- eye drops -- 3 points
- an eye glass case -- 2 points
- a receipt -- 1 point
- matches -- 1 point
- 5 business cards (and they had to be different cards, not just 5 of the same one) -- 3 points
- a doctor's/dentist's office appt. reminder - 3 points
- a mirror - 1 point
- hand cream - 1 point

People really got into this one. We even had one table try to cheat to get a prize!

RIGHT LEFT BRIDAL SHOWER GAME

Everyone sets in a circle. Wrap two (or three depending on how many guests you have) gifts to give to
two or three guests setting in the circle. Tell the guests to listen closely as you read the following and
pass the gift to their left or right whenever they hear it read. Don't read this to slow, it will make the
game much funnier as they try to keep up and pass the gift in the correct order. Don't stop to let them
catch up if they get confused. Let them figure that out themselves.

(brides name) knew right away that she had found Mr Right and the right date was set. Now seemed to

be the right time to start so she left right after lunch and right to her mothers house she went. She

left in such a rush that she left her to-do list right on the table. But there was no time to turn back. She

knew she needed to get started right away to make sure nothing was left undone. With little time left to

spare there is so much left to do. She ask her mother to write down an address list and she left to find

the right invitations. On her way, she left a message at the florist and right into the bridal shop she ran.

Right in the window was the perfect dress. Oh no, I left my checkbook right in the car. Hold that

dress, I'll be right back. With that done, she called Mr. Right and left him a message to call her right

back. She left to meet the florist who had left her a message that they had the right flowers for her.

Mr. Right called her right back and said he left a message for the preacher to call him right back and

he had just left work and would be right over. She left the florist and ran right over to met Mr Right.

Right away they discussed what was left to do. 'Who will be the right best man?' She left that up to

Mr Right. 'I'll get the right maid of honor.' Right away they started shopping for the right rings. With

that done, the next stop was to order the right cake. Mr. Right could clearly see his future, Ms. Right,

was on the right track. After a long day, all that was left to do was get right home to see if any

messages were left while they were out. 'Lets call it a day'. 'Whatever is left to do, can be left until

tomorrow.' With a kiss, he left and she went right to bed.

Whoever is holding the gift at the end, wins that gift.

Re: Mary MOB needs your help girls!!

You could try to get prizes that fit the theme of the shower, if there is one.

My sister's shower was a tea party, so I got tape measures that were in the shape of a tea pot. I also bought sets of rose shaped soaps. They came in packages of 12, I think. I put individual soaps in small organza bags and gave those as prizes, as well.

Re: Mary MOB needs your help girls!!

At my cousins shower we did some sort of 'How well do you know the bride' trivia. Who ever got the most questions right, won. Also, there was a game where everyone got 3 or 5 clothes pins (can't remember) and you clip it onto your clothing. Whoever catches someone sitting with their legs crossed gets one of their clothes pins. Whoever has the most clothes pins at the end of the day (or whenever the game is over) wins.

Also, I've seen bridal shower bingo. Have everyone fill in the blank squares with random items they think the bride will open (bath towels, frying pan, etc...) If the bride opens something that they listed in one of their boxes, they cover their box with a big jewel rhinestone (or you can use a marker). Winner can be whoever has the most boxes marked or whoever gets a 'bingo' (down, across or diagonal).

I kind of like the 'what's in your purse' game. I think it would be fun because I have a lot of random stuff in my purse!!

Re: Mary MOB needs your help girls!!

I have to tell you I really don't like games. Most of them are so cheesy and I am usually a fan of cheesy. I just had this conversation with my bms. I think they are forced merriment. I threatened their lives if they do guess how much candy is in the jar.

But I did see one game that I liked.

At my friends we interviewed her FH and we took pics of him with his thumbs up and thumbs down. We asked her the questions. If she matched his answers we pinned the thumbs up pic on her, if she got it wrong we pinned the thumbs down pics on her.

My mom also wants to do a game with the recipe cards as an ice breaker, which I am ok with, I will have to ask her for details though.

Oh this was cool, my friend did it. Though only her family members one, none of her friends, so it didn't work out well.
