I have to tell you I really don't like games. Most of them are so cheesy and I am usually a fan of cheesy. I just had this conversation with my bms. I think they are forced merriment. I threatened their lives if they do guess how much candy is in the jar.

But I did see one game that I liked.

At my friends we interviewed her FH and we took pics of him with his thumbs up and thumbs down. We asked her the questions. If she matched his answers we pinned the thumbs up pic on her, if she got it wrong we pinned the thumbs down pics on her.

My mom also wants to do a game with the recipe cards as an ice breaker, which I am ok with, I will have to ask her for details though.

Michelle, I'm not a game lover either, don't know why, but I expect there are others like us, that's why I asked. I don't want any guests groaning when I say, 'Now we're going to have some games!!!!' Maybe I can find a creative way to ease them into the games!!!! Thanks for your input, and I'd like to hear about the recipe game!!!!! Mary MOB

You could try to get prizes that fit the theme of the shower, if there is one.

My sister's shower was a tea party, so I got tape measures that were in the shape of a tea pot. I also bought sets of rose shaped soaps. They came in packages of 12, I think. I put individual soaps in small organza bags and gave those as prizes, as well.

Oh Mary, I went to a shower lately and they played such a cute game... It was a Honey Do game where there was a list of all chores and you had to check off whether you thought the bride, groom, both or neither did each job. Some examples were make the bed, walk the dog, mow the lawn. It was really funny to hear what the bride does and what the groom does! The person who got the most correct got a prize!

I like the registry bingo is kool, You make blank bingo cards and the guest fill them in and as she opens her gifts they mark them off, and you have small prizes to give winners....

Hi nice to meet you too... You can make them on the computer, and in the middle is the free space an the rest of the boxes are blank. You ask the guests to filll them out before she starts opening gifts and they mark off as she gets them. ( just make sure you have enough pens, bc we were a little short when we did this). but making them in word on the computer is so easy and you can print them on paper to match her colors or put a clip art to go with her theme.

Similar to something someone else wrote my sister asked my FH questions and then during the gift giving she asked me the same questions...if i matched his answer I got a $5 gift card to target. If I got it wrong she had the addressed envelopes for the thank you cards and I picked a guests envelope and they got the gift card. She did 10 questions....

it was like a how well did I know my FH....some of the questions were things like his favorite sports teams, favorite vacation, favorite restaurant, favorite tv show.

My sis also had a quiz on the table for the guests to see how well they knew us as a couple...the person that got the most questions correct won...those questions included: when did we start dating, what colleges did we go to, where are we going on our HM, where did we buy our new house..

those two games were fun and people got to know us better!!!!
