FH lives there it is a beautiful area. Are you moving North or South of Sunrise. FH lives about 5 blocks from town. It is like their own little community there. The stores are nice, lots of good restauarants in town. There are additional taxes for living in MP (town tax or something).

To be honest, I'm not sure. We followed our Buyer Agent since we had Petey ... We looked at bunch of houses. I'm glad I'm so anal retentive and took tons of notes on each home.

Re: Massapeaqua Park
If you want to check out the people that live in the town there is a tree lighting the weekend after Thanksgiving I believe. Everyone is nice around there. Very friendly...lots of kids around all the time. The schools in the area are really good too. My cousins are in that school district and my aunt loves the teachers.

1. How long is the train to Manhattan? Woodside?
2. What is it know for?
3. Any cutsy traditions? (ex: In Carly Place the neighbors have a tradition of annomysily 'booing' each other arounf Halloween , they leave a poem and a basket of candy, but one person starts it & it's done in chain order...

Re: Massapeaqua Park and Glen Cove
I'm from Glen Cove and still go back on a weekly basis, still have family there, my doctors are there etc... Glen Cove has everything you'll ever need! Everything is close by and even though the city is big it def. doesnt feel like it!!! It has that small town feeling where everyone knows your business before you even do kinda thing lol Also, depends on where in glen cove the house is. Some areas are really nice! like by GC High school and the area near the hospital. Then there are those not so nice areas...but most towns are like this as well. As for the school district. Not a fan! My parents sent us to Catholic school and our family and friends send their children there as well. The public schools are not high on that 'best school district' list if you get what i'm saying...but it has tons of stores, its own hospital, police dept...the whole deal...I liked living there alot

idk about woodside, but to Manhattan its about an hour.
Its known for the Baldwin Brothers, Jerry Seinfeld and Joey Buttafouco...lol
Like someone posted above- park blvd in 'town' has a tree lighing and lots of fairs throughout the year. There are also a few parks.
They have 'music under the stars' events in the summer which are free concerts (some ok bands, etc)
There is an ice skating ring in Marjorie post park
The bike path to Bethpage Park beins n Massapequa also. Its nice for walks and bike rides.
ETS-There realy arent any 'bad' areas. Just stay within SD # 23 and you will be fine.
A friend of mine lives in Glen Cove and sends her kids to private school. Thats all i know of it.

Do you know if she is NorthShore or Glen Cove District? I'd prefer Massapeauqua Park, since the majority of my familiy would be much closer then, but we're making a decession together so ....

Theres only a very small, as in like a block, that would be considered North Shore district. Otherwise the whole city of Glen Cove is GC Schools...

Re: Massapeaqua Park and Glen Cove
Massapequa Park is very nice, but I would be concerned as to whether ur school district is Farmingdale or Massapequa. I went to Farmingdale and from what I see and hear, the schools are getting kinda .......ugh..........for lack of a better word. But that is not based on any statistics that I know of.
