Hello! We just bought our home here and was wondering if anyone was from here? Could anyone give me any inside tips/recomendations in the area? TIA

Re: Massapequa Park
We just moved to massapequa park in Jan. Lots of great stores on park Blvd. Callhoon's is a great bar and restaurant amazing food. Veranda II is another great place family style Italian food also on park. Easy access to everything every store you want in with a few miles. Sunrise mall is very quite and has most of the stores that Roosevelt field has just tons less people.

Re: Massapequa Park
I lived in Massapequa/Massapequa Park mny whole life, until I got married in March. DH grew up in Massapequa too.
IMO: *Gino's on Merrick Road has the best pizza. *Dina's on Merrick Road is the best dry cleaner. *Greek Delight on Merrick Road (near All American) has great salads. *The Linda Shop on Hicksville Road (corner of Merrick Road) is great for jewelry repair and has nice things. *If you haven't been to Krisch's (for ice cream) you haven't lived. Krisch's is the heart of Massapequa!
We wanted Massapequa Park, but bought in Lindenhurst at the beginning of this year because we got a bigger/better house for our limited funds. Massapequa is terrific. Congrats!

Re: Massapequa Park
I'd say just drive around and explore. There are so many great shops and little places in Massapequa and the Park. Massapequa Park Town has a print shop, florist, jeweler, post office. . . .so many shops!
Plus you have Sunrise Mall and the center where Pier One is and Tower Records.
There are a ton of parks and play areas as well. You can walk/run the track at Massapequa High School whenever you want.
I've lived in Massapequa my whole life and love it.

I forgot to mention the Perserve, I only had the chance to bike ride through it once but it is so beautiful... I looked more like a tourist in NYC than a bike rider... There were familys fishing, people walking dogs, baseball game going on, the stream, runners, people with babies it was just very peaceful and beautiful even the ducks looked like they were enjoying themselves.

There is Sidekicks, which is a pretty good restaurant, which is in town. There is also Thai Taste, in town which is very good. Also, in Massapequa, there Sergio's Italian resturant on Merrick Rd. and a really good diner on Sunrise Highway, it is called Massapequa Diner, actually all the diners are good in Massapequa, come to think of it.

Yes, but this is not a place for single ladies to be roaming. There are weirdos out there!!!!!

Re: Massapequa Park
This is what I think of.....
The lake on merrick rd and ocean avenue. Great for pics and relaxing.
John Burns Park on merrick road. You can sit and watch games, people dropping boats in the water. There is kids swings and stuff.
And Marjorie Post park on Merrick and Unqua road.
There are two small (emphasis on small) public beaches: One on alhambra road (which is by **** and Doras... a nice restaurant). Two is on Forest Avenue (you will pass a really really good German restaurant on the way there).
That is all I can think of for now... but there is much much more! Congrats on your new place!
ETA it edited out D I C K and Doras....hehehehehhe
