Re: massapequa park?

I think Marjorie Post Park is right over there somewhere. FH has his company picnic there every year. its pretty but very woody and not sure how much sun comes through

Yes, this is right in that area. We are thinking of going over there for a bit if its nice out since the riviera doesn't give you much time on the grounds to take pics. There is also the Massapequa Preserve in that area, not sure what the picture opportunities would be like there though.

do you know if you would need a permit to take pictures there? I was contemplating this location as well (like maybe do pics in the Playground and on the bleachers by the field or something like that) but wasn't sure if I'd even be able to do it.

Re: massapequa park?

I was just searching on google maps and there is some park at the very end of East Shore Drive (like if you drive past the Riviera and just keep going til you can't go no more). Couldn't really get a good look at it from the map view or even a name for that matter but it's worth checking out.

Re: massapequa park?

I grew up in Massapequa and just took my engagement pictures at Marjorie Post Park which is on the corner of Unqua Road and Merrick Road...pretty close to the Riviera. Unfortunately, although there is a pond there, you can't really get to it because there's a fence around it. Also, becareful with John Burns especially if it's a weekend...lots of football/baseball/soccer games take place at that park!

There is the Massapequa Preserve which is close to the Massapequa train station. There's the lake there that isn't surrounded by a fence and there's the bike/running path that you can take pictures on underneath the trees (a friend did this and the pictures came out amazing)!

There are some parks down at the end of many roads that come off of Merrick Road in Massapequa...they close at dusk so be careful, but no permits are required to take pics at any of these parks. There's a park at the end of the road that's directly across from Massapequa HS (where the funeral home is on one corner and then the King Kullen shopping center on your right) that has a playground and has the bay in the background. (It's across from Chapman Drive in Massapequa)

I HTH...let me know if you have any other questions about parks and stuff in Massapequa/Massapequa Park...I'd be happy to help!

Re: massapequa park?

We live in Lindenhurst and are getting married at Riviera. We have been searching for the same thing and found this really small graden/park that is open to the public to take pictures in right on Merrick Road in Amityville. Its about 5 minutes from East Shore Drive.

It doesn't have a name, the Amityville Chamber of Commerce takes care of it. It has a dock, a bulkhead, a gazebo, benches, trees, brick paths, tons of flowers and a pergola to sit under.

It is right at the corner of Ocean Avenue and Merrick Road in Amityville. Its between Bayview Avenue and Broadway (Rte 110) on the south side.

Definately check it out next time you are over there.

Re: massapequa park?

We got married at the Riviera and used Pearsall Park in Amityville, it was pretty, grassy with enough trees to get the shots we wanted.

Re: massapequa park?

Brady park has a lake and a little bridge, and a trail. I think there is also a playgound there that you can take pics on that would be cute. also if you take merrick rd about 10 mins east you will hit the town of babylon and you can take pics at argyle park.
