Money wise, I can understand, but if you think about it, if we ever needed a break... a drink... and something to celebrate, its probably now

great, i guess we'll never get a house

this s-u-c-k-s that i have to suffer and live in an apartment forever because all these idiots cant afford their mortgages this is what you get for being responsible and having impeccable credit

sorry im just b-i-t-c-h-i-n-g

i want a house to put all my shower gifts in and we found one, but with everything going on its so frustrating

well lets see what they are coming up with to help. It might take some time to fix things but you will one day

its just annoying - we have a plan, we've stuck to it, we save save save save, we are on track, and then something out of your control gets in the way of everything - and its frustrating - because if we don't end up getting this house or ANY house ANYTIME soon - its not because we F'd up....KWIM? it would be different if we screwed up and blew our money, or messed up our credit - but NO we have money, we have great credit and things out of our control are messing it all up makes me want to have a temper tantrum

this is not being passed bc the politics who voted against it are scared that they are not going to be reelected... meanwhile they are going to put us in a GREAT DEPRESSION!

actually its the ceo's of the financial businesses that put us there. Its not governments responsibility to pay off their debts, this is not a socialist government. Its the mortgage business and financial institutions that put us in this situation.

Thank you Mr. Clinton for getting us into this disaster.

not so fast. this was a clinton/bush one-two punch. clinton opened doors to get people in homes, and bush pushed them open wider with the help of a deregulating republican majority. in flowed the corruption and abuse.

im not sure if we should be bashing clinton or our current fearless leader...

she is blaming clinton bc it was clinton who passed the bill to make it easier for ppl to get homes and doing such things as 0% down, which was a huge problem as we see now. So thats why she blamed him since it was his plan.

I understand but clearly it wasnt just that plan that is causing trouble...i think it is a combination of a lot of things..many of them involving current administration and gov't.

i just hope we are not directly affected by all of this - as long as we both keep our jobs i have faith it will all work out....i dont even want to think of what would happen if we were out of work

it is very frustrating. The only thing i can say to make you feel a bit better is that although its VERY frustrating to not get a house now that you want one, with whats going on be glad thats all youre going through. There are tens of thousands of ppl who lost their jobs and have families to support and now cant. Also with so many losing their jobs it will only make it harder for those to pay their mortgages, they can lose their homes. There are those who have kids and wont have the money to do so. And not just the rich CEO's, but alot of middle class ppl who worked at banks(someone i know said they have laid off 60,000ppl) are average middle class ppl and now are in horrible situations.

i edited to add that everyone is to blame lol. I mean CEO's, mortgage lenders, those in government both dems and rep's, home buyers and the list goes on.

how much of an effect do you think the media has? like with the stocks plummeting today? you know how the news was saying if the house votes no it would cause the market to nosedive - do you think the media is making things worse?

if it wasnt for DH's job i would've done it by now. He is actually very busy at work and got a great promotion this year. I think in the long run the best will be with him to stick with his company. If it wasnt for this, i would be making plans to leave for a year or two.

Yes, Clinton opened the pandora's box and Bush came in and was spending irresponsibly in addition to the Government not regulating the expenses. They are all A-holes in my eyes.

Our market was FANTASTIC during the Clinton Administration but towards the end of his term, things started to go sour. Because of that 0 money down deal, disaster was waiting to happen. Banks cannot survive on lending and not getting any money down - which in turn failed because people borrowed more than they could afford and then people not paying back the banks, and in turn, forclosures as we see now. I don't know how that bill was passed in the first place. It is virtually impossible for it to work as we all know now. But, it's too late. You'd think that the people in the Government who are all graduates of ivy league schools would know how the economic cycles work but they don't. So, I am still holding Clinton as the person PRIMARILY responsible for this disaster and holding the Bush administration secondarily responsible.
