Does anyone know where to get one around Long Island? also how long does it take to make?
FMIL is asking FH to make her an appointment somewhere when she gets here from Sydney. she gets here on July 9th and the wedding is July 16th. Is that enough time to get one made up? she also would prefer to go to Macys. I dont know why, but she thinks macys is the store in NY. she hasnt been to NY before and she isnt familiar with the stores here.
i do not know why she isnt doing this in sydney before she leaves.

Re: mastectomy bra?
I would call around the undergarments store to make sure they can accomodate you for this kind of special order. There are a few places that a lot of people recommend - I think Blum's in Patchouge and Georgettes (is that right). also Bra*tenders is very good - they are in the city. If you are going to go to Macy's - I would go to the one in Herald Square. Nordstrom in Roosevelt field has a very good lingerie department.
ETA: I didn't see your time frame. I highly doubt you are giving the stores enough time for a special order. You should start calling right now to see what they do for mastectomy bras.

There is a store on Larkfield Rd. in East Northport, small very private, caring staff. I don't remember the name but I can get it for you if you'd like.
Don't know their turn-around time though. Could she get one made at home and sent here?
Best wishes!

patchogue is a little far. the week before the wedding is crazy with picking up FHs family and friends at the airport (they didnt get same flights on same days so the brother comes in on one flight the parents come in on another, friends on another etc. all in different terminals and some on the same day but 2 hours in between) so i want to stay close to the massapequa area, western suffolk and nassau.

thanks for the search. your idea of calling up a cancer society was a great idea and we found a place in wantagh, a place in glen cove and a place in west hempstead. we now have to call them up. thanks again for your help!

Mastecomy bras don't have to be special ordered. Georgette's in Hicksville has them too.
Good luck.

Great Shapes in Roslyn and Merrick. I'm not sure if you have to special order them though.

Do you know any nurses? Because they might know since many do have cancer patiences. I had a patient who had one, but I don't have her any more or I would ask.
