Maternity Leave

I get 13 weeks 100% pay and then can take 12 weeks FMLA unpaid plus I can use my 5 weeks of vacation time.

I can also take a 2 year leave and have a job when I come back.

OMG!!! WOW!! That is the best maternity leave I've heard of so far!! WHat do you do? SOmeone I know who is a teacher has similar leave.

I can take 12 weeks FMLA unpaid. If I want to get paid I can use up all my sick time and vacation time which really S U C K S!!!

But I can also take up to two years unpaid and still have a job when I come back. One year is considered child care leave and the 2nd year is considered 'discretionary' leave and is a bit harder to get approved, depending on your position in the company.

I am not a teacher. I work for a very big bank.
They just changed our leave to that Jan 1. It used to be 6 weeks or 8 weeks depending on how you delivered.

I am very happy and have no complaints. I may swing 5 months paid

I'm in NJ, so we get 12 weeks FMLA and 12 weeks NJ FLA.

(One bonus point for Jersey!!)

So if everything works correctly without complications I can have 24 weeks off with job protection (but not paid unless I fill with vacation and sick time).

I work in Jersey too, but I only get 4 weeks prior to delivery, plus 6 weeks for a normal vaginal delievery, 8 weeks for a c-section. I also have to use my sick, vacation and personal days, and because I missed the cut-off for FMLA by 3 days I am unable to go on FMLA....not that I planned on going back to work anyway, this just made it easier for me to quit. What part of Jersey do you work in? I am/was in Woodbridge
