Matre-D Tip

Matre-D Tip

Hi everyone--
If you don't mind could you tell me how much you tipped your Matre D becuase FH & I don't know how much to give.

Our hall told us $3-5 a person but that would be like $700 (if we tipped $3 a person) & we can't see giving him that much.

ANy help would be appreciated

We had an wonderful, amazing Matre D. We tipped $5 per person which came to $550.

East Wind recommends tipping $3 per guest.

Yea, I see what you mean our matrie'D advised we give $750.00, but he said that is divided between about 6 other staff, it's not just for him.

we gave a $1000 to our maitre'd -$5 for 200 people - he did a great job and it is shared

Our hall said around $2 pp, we will likely give more than that if the service is good...

Hmmm, if its a 'tip' it shouldn't be in the contract!

we tipped a little over $2.00 per person...
