What is the best mattress to buy? I am still sleeping on the one I've had since I was 5 years old so I dont know very much....

go to a store & lay on a bunch & see which is most comfortable.
we currently have a futon, which means no springs. at my parents house, upstate, NY we have a spring matters with a pillow top. we get a better night sleep on the futon. so we are getting a tempur pedic mattress. yes they are very expensive, but they last longer then regular mattresses & since I have serious back issues i don't want a mattress with springs.

Definitely go to a store and try out some. Pay attention to ones that are geared more toward your sleep habits (sleep on back/side/tummy).
