Maui & Oahu-- Hawaii

Hi all
Just wanted to know if anyone had price quotes for staying at Maui and Oahu and what hotels you stayed at/plan to stay at? Also do you think 5 nights in Oahu and 4 nights in Maui would be enough time to enjoy both places?? Thank you!!

We went to Hawaii last October and loved it so much we're going back for the honeymoon!!!

I think you should reverse the number of nights though. Ohau is very 'un-hawaii' like - it's very
city-ish (with the exception of Waikiki Beach) and 5 nights is really too long there. I would stay there for 4 nights and do the 5 nights on Maui

We stayed at the Outrigger Waikiki on the Beach and it was great! Can't rave enough about it. There aren't that many hotels right on the beach there and it's a perfect location.

On Maui, we stayed at the Hyatt which was one of the best hotels ever! It's just so beautiful. Right on Kaanpali beach and close to the town of Lahain which is really the best place for food and drinks, shopping, etc.

Also on Maui, check out the Sheraton Black Rock which is just down the beach from the Hyatt. The Sheraton probably has the nicest beachfront on Kaanapali. There is a walkway that connects just about all of the hotels on Kaanapali and also goes past the Whalers Village outdoor mall which has shops and restaurants.

We loved both islands and are going back for the honeymoon! We loved the hotels we stayed at so much, we're even staying at the same ones!

Also when you make reservations be sure to let everyone know you're on your honeymoon - they give you free stuff!

You are going to love the Hyatt! They even have penguins in the open-air lobby! It is just absolutely amazing.

One other thing I recommend is that if you do stay at the Hyatt, go onto their website and book the 'romance under the stars' thing. It's really cool. They have a giant telescope up on the roof and they bring you up (I think the max is 5 couples) and give you chocolate covered strawberries and champagne and you look at the stars and the astronomer tells you Hawaiian legends. It sounds nerdy but it's really great and romantic. They have a few that they run - but try to go to the couples only one. I think it was like $25 per person. So worth it!

P.S.: Love your avatar - I'm going to Disney next Thursday - can't wait!
