Re: Maximus Salon
Hey there! I'm thinking of using them too & it looks like we have the same day. What time is your wedding? Mine's early in the morning.

Re: Maximus Salon
personally wouldn't suggest them to many bad experiences and way overpriced.

Re: Maximus Salon
They came to me on my wedding day for hair and make-up. They did almost all of my BP. No complaints...we were all happy.

Re: Maximus Salon
i recently had a terrible experience there. i have been reluctant about posting, but since you asked...
i have used maximus before for my hair in february for my best friend's wedding. i was thrilled with both hair & makeup. they will open early & can accomodate my entire bridal party, so i was eager to book with them for my own wedding. however, they do not allow you to schedule a trial with them until only two months before (something about scheduling). knowing that they are a reliable salon, i had NO other trials (my biggest mistake in the wedding planning process).
in september, i had my trial. when i arrived on time, i sat there waiting for half an hour before they washed my hair (i sent my BMs shopping in the meantime). when the stylist finally met with me, i described the hairstyle i wanted & showed her several pictures. she had my hair up in five minutes (i frantically called my friends to rush back). i was shocked when she spun me around to see it. i asked for a very simple, elegant low bun. i had some kind of twist with loops in it when she was finished. the reason why i was so shocked was because the style i requested was so simple.
i expressed my disappointment. she took it down, put my hair in rollers and sent me to makeup. the attitude in her voice made me very uncomfortable. however, i loved my makeup. so back over to hair. she redid the style three more times. i was terribly disappointed each time. one of my BMs heard her make a comment to another employee that we were still there.
i left, after being charged $90 (the makeup was free). i was devastated, because i had total confidence in maximus (my fault) & know i had to scramble to find another salon.
i spoke with the bridal coordinator about the attitude of the stylist, and how uncomfortable she made us feel. however, i stressed that maybe she had a bad day, or we just didn't click. i asked for another trial. after not calling me back for 10 days, she finally rescheduled me for 1/2 price (which i thought was outrageous).
as you can tell, i am truly disappointed with the service i received at maximus and will never go back there.
luckily, MGM studios on old country road in westbury (closer to century 21) was very accomodating and helpful. i am booked with them.

Re: Maximus Salon
I called the salon 4 times and left messages wanting to go for a trial there and never received a call back !
Needless to say, I booked someone else...

Re: Maximus Salon
I had a very similar experience to Spel's. I had two trials dones there for my e-party and I was also left waiting for half an hour and also received rude and very unprofessional service from them. I would not reccommend Maximus. ETA: For the money they charge, to to NYC!

Re: Maximus Salon
Does it have to be a salon? Because so many of the vendors on this board are GREAT and there are many others too that you can look into. If you do a search, the girls on this board have posted many people you can use.
Most of them will travel and come to you!
By the way, I'm using Jennifer from Fairytale Makeovers.
