May 2004 brides

Hi May brides! I can't find our original post on the 04 Board (I guess it's been awhile since we've all posted on it) so I figured I'd re-post. How's everyone doing with planning? I actually took a break for awhile (been busy with moving stuff for next month) but I blocked my hotels yesterday, yay! How are you guys doing?

I had taken a break, from planning and the board, too. I'm in school now and i was just getting overloaded with stuff to do. So now that its winding down, adn finals are next week i'll pick up again.

I met a couple dj's and we want to book one, but i have to wait for tax refund to be able to place a deposit. grrrr...
Once they are booked i'm moving onto photo and video.
I've already asked all the girls... so i can't wait to go BM dress shopping!!!

Other than booking the hall, dj, videographer, and photographer, I've done nothing! I have to start shopping for gowns soon......

One year seems so far, but at the same time, so close!

I havent done anything new except book my block of rooms in the past couple days.

In the next month or so I want to:

Write our ceremony
Pick out the favors
Pick out the invitations
Pick out the florist

Hey 04 Brides!!!
I took a break from the planning after we had booked the Hall, Church, DJ, Photo and Video. We relaxed the weeks surrounding our engagement party and just the past 2 weeks booked our Limo's and our Hotel Block. My mom and I are going to begin the dress shopping the end of this month. She lives out of state so we're trying to set a date that is good for us both!

And we have the hall of course.
I already have my dress so that is done with. Also bought my headpiece and jewelry. The fun stuff!

We'd be farther along if my FH would help out at all!!! I told him he's in charge of calling DJ, but guess whos been doing it??? GRRRR

I think i'm going to use Wingate Inn. Since i'm at WM its very convenient!

On stewart ave near Nassau CC and Roosevelt field. Few blocks down from Garden City Bowl.

I need to book the florist and then I will feel like I am in good shape. I am going to go to Flower Michele if they have my date open but where else should I look???? Any ideas????

Dress, photo/video, Officient and band are all done...oh we also booked the place.

Hey itsabouttime, I blocked three different hotels (we will probably have alot of out-of-towners) - The Gateway Inn in Merrick, The Red Roof Inn & the Marriott. Thanks for asking!

The stuff we have left is favors, invitations and I have to talk with my bridesmaids (I still have my FSIL to ask!) I think I know the color (silver or platinum) but I want to have one or two of them try on the color to make sure it looks good. I also have to book a room for us for that night (we may just go back to our apartment though, not sure yet), pick the music, the flowers, and get gifts for everybody. Wow, I guess I still do have alot to do!

Forgot theres a red roof in Westbury now too!

Trying to kick FH in gear to get an officiant too. Think we'll just go through WM. I have mine already (an uncle). (I'm Protestant and he's Jewish)

I have been doing things at a snail's pace but it is amazing how they seem to have added up (especially since I started planning 15 months ago!)

Reception hall, church and officiant, photographer, DJ, transportation (using my dad's old 67 GTO convertible), and I think I found my gown! My mom also has block-booked the hotel. Amazing!

Don't think we'll have limos... so thats taken care of!
Maybe just one to get people to the hall. I'll be getting ready at the hall.

Tracy, isn't it great when you aren't doing some typical wedding thing (like limos) - one less thing to worry about!!!!

we booked our rooms at the Marriott. (li marriott, if thats the one you're talking about) we'll be there from 5/14/-5/16!! it's so pretty there.

I've been slacking. I am meeting with the pianist on Saturday. I've already got the Hall, DJ, Photo, Video. Got my dress & BM dresses. Can you believe that my dress is in already! But it's in storage. I want to call them to get it out of storage, so I could at least inspect it! My dress was discontinued, thats why they got it so quickly. YIKES! I better call them soon!

Next on the agenda is Limos. The Engagement party is on June 28th, so I have a bit of planning to do for that too. Fun Fun Fun!

ONE YEAR from TODAY! 5/14/04! I am so excited!
