Personally, I'd go with May.
August weather is hot, sticky, and humid. You don't want to have to be sweating your makeup off during pictures or dancing.
But go for whichever date you'd be more comfortable with

If your looking for warm weather I would do August because you know it's going to be warm. May is one of those weird months. Flowers wise, i don't think you can go wrong with either. In August they will be more in bloom and the annuals will be more grown so they might look fuller.

I would say May because its cooler and I dont know about you, but I sweat as soon as the sun is at its peak so the last thing you want is to sweat in the hot august sun in a white dress!!
But all in all, which ever date you can afford I think is what matters

I like august because it is typically a dry month. Im more worried about rain! Flowers will be beautiful in may and august. you just have to pick the right flowers for the month.

I am getting Married the first weekend in August, i did not want to wait till then i actually was hoping for MAY. but with graduations, finals and school still being in it didnt work out. Now that i am a August bride Im super excited with my decision, Ill have the beautiful weather in the months before to lay out, work out, and time off since i work in education. May is a wild month! anything and everything is going on

I would go with May, mostly because it is sooner! I knew we wanted a holiday weekend and we were between memorial day weekend or labor day weekend. We went with memorial day weekend b/c it was sooner

I'd say go with May cause it's sooner.. I wanted an august 2010 wedding really bad, but FH didnt propose when I thought he was gonna and I didnt wanna plan a wedding in 8 months.. Now, I wish I went for it!!

You run the risk of more rain in May than August. August is generally just hot! Totally up to you. Also, if you have more OOT guests, it might be easier for them to come in August (b/c it's the summer). People who are in college, etc. will be better able to be there as well. I know for myself, if I was invited to a wedding on May 8th, I wouldn't go b/c I'm in law school and that's in the middle of my finals.

I like May , but if your initial feeling was August I'd stick with it...yes its hot, but it's also hot today and its April...LOL It seems like you have more reasons for August then May... you will still be able to take great pics in August and have beautiful flowers it's summer. Also if you really really want a certian flower its my experience for the right price they can get it any time of year
