Re: May be rude - but dont have to answer - at least take poll...
I couldn't answer because I don't know (moved into DH's house) but I think you should spend what you can afford and really want. Just think most people never change their bedroom sets so you're going to have it for a long time.

I agree with Donna, since I already have bedroom furniture (nothing great ) I might just wait on it for a while to get exactly what I want. I have to furnish the rooms that don't have ANY furniture in first like the living room and dining room first.

i just bought a set from pier one that i liked and got a really good deal on for now. we are spending so much money on fixing the house up that i had to buy a less expensive set for now. but when we are able to get a better one i will just put the pier one set in a guest bedroom. i think all together we paid like 1300 hundred and that including head board and footboard dresser with mirror two side tables one lingerie dresser and one 6 drawer dresser.

We got our set at Pier One also. I forget the total but I am sure it was well under $2000. We got a tall dresser, mirror, headboard, and two nightstands. It was all on sale and then FH opened an account. We saved a lot. And it seems to be really sturdy, well-made furniture. I love it.

We have a set from Seamen's - I think it ran us about $2K for queen size headboard, long dresser, mirror, armoire, 2 night stands, delivery & tax.
I don't think it's the best quality, but we will certainly get several years out of it.
There was set at Drexel Heritage that I fell in love with but it over $4k and we didn't want to go for it until we move into a house or something more permanant.

When Danielle got it....Her parents actually paid for it last year. They paid $1100 with two nightstands and the armoire. We do not have the foot board though. Scott

My parents spent about 6k on my youth set, this was over 10 years ago and it is still in great condition. In fact, I am taking it with me to the new house for my step-daughter's room.
Get what you like, and check for quality if you plan on having for a while.
