oh i did DIY projects for my e-party. It was SOOOO much work and i was up until 3am before the party, i am not going through that again. I said then that for the wedding NO DIY

I'm not really sure that's my problem. I want something 'different' (i'm sure everyone says that). I don't want overly flowery, white or plain ivory - so sick of super plain embossed invites. and i hate the color pink... kind of going with the chocolate brown theme because that is my sister's dress color. I saw a kate spade one I like that is dark brown, but the branches are yellow and i don't like that. then I saw a white one with dark brown branches but i don't want a white background!
honestly I didn't want to spend a lot of invites but if i find one i love I might just do it. i'm going so budget on everything else, might as well have that one splurge! didn't think it would be invites though.
how contemporary do you want it?
sort of like this type of style? not saying this one in particular but the style itself
see, i really like the dark background. I just have to sell fh on it - there is a navy blue kate spade one i like and he seemed to like it but i really think i want brown.
so i like the background on that, just not the flowers.

yup i ordered a sample from them, which didnt take that long to receive. ALong with the sample were a bunch of other info they sent over. They said if its a color change or any details we want changed then they will do it no problem. So you can just order a sample and ask them to do a different color other than the green. They will also send cards with samples of the colors you are using

Well if you do a combo like brown and blue then you know that combo will look good together so no need to worry. Brown/blue/ivory will go perfect together. HAHAH i hope so bc those are my colors

my sister's dress is dark brown with a champagne sash and i think the FG girls will be in the same family. that's the closest I'm having to an actual color them. but if i find a shade of blue i like - I have to see how it looks on the invites with the brown.

but i've gotten 3-4 invites in the past year and they are still plain old ivory embossed, so hopefully i'll be the first to do something different.

youre going for the cake next week? its funny bc the guy we want to use our florist said she knows him so she is going to let him know we're coming. Well she gave him my number and he called before and left me a voicemail to set up an appt. I was pleasantly surprised and he was soooo nice, cant wait.
