What is the difference between computerized calligraphy and me printing out my own envelopes on my computer?

Re: Maybe a stupid question but
I am trying to figure out if it is worth it to pay someone or if it will look the same as if I do it myself

Re: Maybe a stupid question but
hmnn...I'm not any expert, actually I only know the difference between thermography and letterpress LOL..but,
I would imagine if you're good on a computer it shouldn't be a problem??
When my sis got married they printed their own invites, envelopes, programs off their computer-it looked good but the quality of paper wasn't So it ended up looking just OK....
My advice is try 1 or 2 envelopes at home and then decide.

good Idea!! I can ask the woman who is doing my invites what the difference is but I was afraid she would try to talk me into getting it done and I could have done them myself then Id be pi$$ed lol

Yea b/c envelopes would be a good place to save $$. They get thrown out immediately upon arrival anyway

Re: Maybe a stupid question but
The difference is exactly what you thought... calligraphied letters by a digital printer compared to by a human hand. The difference is that by hand their are irregularities to the naked eye and is the original form of calligraphy.
It's nice to have on an envelope if you have the $.

I personally think it's a waste... the guests won't really be looking to see if it was printed or really written...If you can afford it in your budget...go for it. Otherwise...the good old printer does the trick lol

Re: Maybe a stupid question but
I agree With Dani because it could give you the $$ to invite more guests. But it's a personal preference and also depends on the style of your invitations.
