Maybe engaged?
Hi everyone! So I don't know if I could really call myself engaged but my bf and I have been talking for a while and have decided to get married next year (2015, anywhere from January to May). I don't have a ring (we were looking to get one by the summer) but wanted to get a start on finding out info since I have no idea what I am doing. Am I jumping the gun or is it ok to start now since we are both on the same page?
Thank you
Ellinator

Thank you so much for answering! We have discussed this with my father in the past, and he said that he and my mom could give us anywhere from 10-15,000... and since me and my bf don't want to become in debt from an extravagant wedding (which of course I have always wanted) we could probably spend an additional 5000, making the budget about 20,000... Instead of having our wedding at one of the beautiful wedding halls, we were thinking of doing it at a knights of columbus or vfw or something like that- which makes me very nervous since his family is so judgmental

Not everyone offers it, like our first choice would have been Jericho terrace but they wanted $80/pp which came to almost 17k just for the food and bar!
But I've heard west sayville mansion is gorgeous and they offer it. If your only having about 100 I loves stewart thomas country club too. The east wind is very nice to.and they have 2 deals!! We wanted different and fun not super fancy. So the sterling was the closest thing to JT to us. It's still not a common wedding venue like the others but it's what we liked!! If u do want to check out my venue make sure u make an appointment with bill or yama u dint want diane from what I've heard! Lucky fit us we never worked with her but it's what I have been told!! Good luck!!

January is the cheapest month for a wedding. Prices come down for off season weddings from November-March sometimes April. A Friday wedding will save you money as will an afternoon wedding. Check out all inclusives. Also check out some of the Lessings venues. They will give you quotes over the phone. Hope that helps, good luck
