Maybe I found a place!!!

My wedding is there, and I felt the same way after visiting several places. As soon as I saw it and heard the price, and the fact that they had a date in June 2002 available (I got engaged on 12/31/01 and we wanted a short engagement), I booked it. My wedding is a Saturday afternoon, ceremony, cocktail hour, reception all there. We have the smaller room (min 50 guests). The way they do the chapel (inside and out) is beautiful, and the flowers are included in the cost. I haven't heard anything bad about the place so far, and I'm very comfortable leaving things in their hands. The only annoying thing is that they have a free party planner who tries to sell you everything. You do not have to use their house vendors, even though she will push you to. feel free to ask me anything else! good luck!

Maybe I found a place!!! False Alarm!

well, Watermill may be a false alarm! After looking over the menu, I realized that it is a cheaper version of CB and Fox Hollow. Watermill does not include a lot of the stuff that Fox Hollow and CB add in. I am not so sure now!!

So are the prices cheaper at the Watermill too because of the difference in menu?? My opinion is that no matter where the wedding is, there is always too much food, but if the other places give you specific expensive items (seafood) for the same price, and that's what you want, go for it!!

Maybe I found a place!!! False Alarm!

We had our wedding at the Watermill. It was fabulous- the cocktail hour was outside- food was delicious and plentiful. We had the dinner and the Viennese hour. Everything was perfect. The only vendor I used was Jeffrey studios- a little intrusive but nice pictures. All the other vendors I picked myself and I did not use that party planner at all. People are still raving about my wedding and we did not go bankrupt having it. We also had a Saturday afternoon wedding and used the Astor room. I could not say enough about the Watermill (and even my mother in law had nothing to complain about!)

Don't think that the Fox Hollow is any cheaper. We went to look at FH and met with one of the banquet managers-who happened to speak just like 'Fronk' in 'Father of the Bride'. He kept mentioning how everything was plus-plus and asked us if we wanted the 'gookdale hour' (cocktail hour). He spoke just like Fronk. Anyway, he grudgingly mentioned the prices for everything while saying plus-plus after each item. So read the fine print.

Maybe I found a place!!!

My girlfriend had her wedding there last year and it was the nicest wedding that I ever went to. The food was superb and the service excellent. I love the Scotto Brothers (which is why I am getting married at Fox Hollow).
