one of my closest friends who happens to be a bridesmaid has been with her bf now for 7 years. She heard through the grape vine that her bf might propose this september on there anniversary. She told me that if he does shes planning on setting the date for 2 weeks b4 my wedding....i'm irritated because she is obv one of my bm's and she would want me to be her bm and im just thinking its kind of messed up she would scheduale it so close my wedding.. ? she says she feels a little sorry because shes going to be taking the spot light away from me..i dont care about the spot light. but like how can i make myself available when its 2 weeks b4 my wedding ?!! ?

I think it is really rude of her. I would just explain in advance that you are going to be focused on your wedding at the time, and with her acceptance as a bridesmaid you thought she would be as well... then let her know how important it is to you to be part and help with her wedding and that it makes you sad you might not be able to now.

Sorry to crash.... But honestly everyone is eentitled to thiet own wedding date. I know this first hand because not one not two but three of my cosest friends are all getting married within weeks of me. We are all in eachoyhers weddings and it has been so much fun... Certainly not easy... But def fun. I couldn't picture being upset... Because of a date someone chose. I was the first to get engaged and the last to get married.... It hasn't bothered me one. Bit... You should just have fun with it

I understand that it may not be the best time for you to be in a wedding party two weeks before your wedding but unfortunately you can't choose when someone chooses to get married. You put in your post tha their anniversary is in September. I am guessing they are getting married on or around their anniversary. if that is the case at least they did not pick a random date near your wedding.
I honestly think that it can be fun to have a friend get married around the same time. Shopping together, planning together, DIY together.
Take a deep breath. Am sure I would be shocked at first but think of all the positives

no it has nothing to do with her anniversary..Her anniversary is in the beggining of sept. shes setting it after ... she doesnt even know if hes doing it im not that stressed.....im just frustrated bcuz i want to dedicate myself to her special day 100% .. not only that i know she would take like a huge honey moon i dont think she wud be available for my day.. .sorry if i sound like a *****... the day she found out i was engaged she kinda seemed jealous... idk..

I would be pissed if a BM ended up not showing up to my wedding just because she HAD to get married 2 weeks before me and was on her HM. It's kind of ridiculous.

I can see why you're frustrated, but i wouldn't get too worked up over it yet because
1. he hasn't even proposed yet, who knows if what she heard is right 2. She may change her tune about the wedding date once she starts thinking about vendors/venues (because of pricing/availability and the like.)

I wanted to thank you guys for all your help.. i know i over reacted at first. i am happy for her if he does propose.. and i want to be there for her even if its a day b4 my wedding.. i just wanted to be able to dedicate more time to her and i know i wont be able to... she is telling me now shes betweek june and late sept. well it is what it is

I wouldn't stress about it yet since nothing is set in stone. Wait until the proposal actually happens. I understand that this is frustrating for you.
