Maybe it's just me but...

Original post by dancinmyazoff

...I just don't get the concept of having a groom's cake? Would that make a wedding cake the 'bride's cake' Don't get me wrong I actually think their really cute but if the above is true then wouldn't you want somethat that symbolizes you together not seperately on your wedding day? Can someone clarify for me...I'm a lil confused

cute idea, but not for us.

Neither of us are really 'cake' people to begin with....

althoughhhhhhhh, I wonder if we could get a chocolate chip cheesecake for our wedding cake!!! That would be sooooooooooooo good!

you can do that, depending on where you get it from, if you get it from RH not sure if they can do this for you but definitely ask...Ive seen other bakeries do that, many have cookies and cream and different options.

The groomscake i am either doing red velvet cake, or maybe even carrot cake since fh loves it

I think because the bride tends to be the major planner of everything the groom's cae is supposed to be something the groom can pick out. It's also a way to give a variety of choice to guests. But I think because we are all for the most party having a dessert or VH as well as a cake that it doesn't make sense.
