i'm FROM long island and i hate it here. all your points were dead on.
does your fh know how unhappy you are here? do you plan on staying here after you're married? maybe you guys could work out a compromise.
the weather does have a tendancy to bum the fudge out of people.
wanna go out for coffee or something soon? being away from family *****, but you've got plenty of gals right here who care a ton about you and if you want or need anything, just let us know what we can do for you.![]()

I'm at my wits end with my job. I would quit in a second but I know that wouldn't bode well financially!![]()
I hate Long Island. No offense but it's not where I'm from...I planned to leave but then I met my FH and now I'm stuck here. I hate it. I hate being away from my family. I hate the cost of living. I hate the traffic. I hate everything about it.
I am at such a crossroads. Part of me would love to quit my job and pack up and move back upstate. BUT that would be too hard on my relationship with my FH.
I guess I need to just suck it up. I just don't know how.....![]()

just think about what you do have, you have a man who loves you and wants to spend the rest of his life with you. Sorry you hate living in LI, but while you're feeling like this try to focus on the things you do have and are happy with.

How long have you lived down here?? FH is from upstate and he's been here for 2.5 years (he moved down right after college to be with moi!) and at first he hated it and he hated for about a year... now, he never wants to leave. He still considers it pergatory though. If you havne't been down here that long, be patient and give it time, it'll grow on ya! I listen to her vent about it all the time so I definitely know what you are saying. she moved down here with her boyfriend and 6 months later he left her for another woman!! So imagine, it could be worse.. its just a bad day
