Maybe it's the rain....

but I'm having an awful day. I'm just genuinely unhappy.....

I'm at my wits end with my job. I would quit in a second but I know that wouldn't bode well financially!

I hate Long Island. No offense but it's not where I'm from...I planned to leave but then I met my FH and now I'm stuck here. I hate it. I hate being away from my family. I hate the cost of living. I hate the traffic. I hate everything about it.

I am at such a crossroads. Part of me would love to quit my job and pack up and move back upstate. BUT that would be too hard on my relationship with my FH.

I guess I need to just suck it up. I just don't know how.....

Sorry, I just needed to vent. I'm sick to my stomach from stress....I'm just bummin...big time....

It's really hard to be away from family. I'm so sorry that you're feeling this way. Have you discussed this with FH? Does he have any interest in moving? Maybe you could try Westchester county..... not LI, but, not quite upstate?

I tell him this all the time....it's always 'we'll move', and sometime after the wedding. Honestly, I don't know how much longer I will last here. I hate it.....

this never passes though....I may forget for a day or two how much I hate it here and then I get a huge reminder and it cycles back....ugh.....

Would you consider getting another job else where (even in Manhattan) so if you ever get homesick you can stop by and see your family after work?

I work in Manhattan one day a week. I despise commuting....and Manhattan is still 2 1/2 hrs. from my family...no bonus there...

Im so sorry you are having a day like this....Im not from NY period and though I have lived here for close to 20 years I cant say its ever been home.....If you ever need to talk or get out for a bit let me know!

just keep smiling maybe try and find some things to do that interest you, hobbies, sports, take a class, dance, piano - something? ive been bumming lately also ... feels like im just going through the motions and its blahh!

Yeah, I'm in a funk...but I've been in it for far too long...honestly, the wedding here makes me being here feel permenant and that's the worst feeling EVER. I honestly think I'll lose my mind if I have to stay here more than 6-9 months...hell, I don't even know if I can last another week...ughhhhhhhhhhh....I'll just shut up and deal....

I know how it is to be away from family. When i moved to PA, i hated it although it was cheaper and less traffic. I know what you are going through and its very depressing.

It is a total cliche, but home is where the heart is and thats with your family.

On the bright side, your wedding isnt too far off so if FH said you can move after the wedding- you can be back w/ your family soon. That and TGIF (always a bright side).
