to make LIweddings private to only LIwedding users...

ha i acutally FM client services about it and its a no go...it would never work...doing that would just CAUSE more lurkers...i understand....we all have to remmember THAT anything we say....anyone can see....

They won;t do it, cause anytime you search weddings, it comes up in a googel search. Just be careful about personal info, that's all

ETA: Thousands of girls have used this board w/o any problems, don't let one or 2 bad experiences make this place any different for you, it's still home to many of us!

Exactly Ryan!!! That was truly unfortunate for Milana today but, there are some precautions you can take, i.e., dont have your LIW screenname = your AOL or AIM or other email name... don't have your or DH's surname visible in your albums, and obviously don't type that info in a post anywhere.
*Also, remember that the girl who originally posted Milana's wedding said it was GORGEOUS and it started off as a complementary thread; the veil of anonymity lends itself to 'groupthink' so once 1 green eyed monster opened the floodgate the other wankers jumped on board, as cowards do.
If someone wants to ridicule my 'stuff' go for it, chances are I'll never know about it anyway! Everyone has a different comfort level with that though so we are free to post as much or as little information as we want!
On balance, I believe the greater good is served by letting people lurk to their hearts' content...

i never would have found or wanted to join this site if it was not for a google search and found it by accident. if it was just for members i never would have joined. it wouldnt be a as popular i think.

cant they make it private to where it wouldnt show up in google results??? im sure there are websites that are locked like that?

sorry, but i dont understand the rationalization that making LIW private for forums would CAUSE more lurking!

so many less ppl would go to the trouble of actually registering.

i thought i remember someone sayiing that the off topic board isnt public and that you have to be logged in to view it? not sure if thats true, but if it is...why not do that with the rest?? its reaaally creepy that just anyone on a whim can very quickly pop on and check things out...at least knowing that ppl would actually have to sit there are register would cut that down or make the process somewhat more annoying to go through to lurk, JMO.

if i could guess its more of an exposure/advertisement/money issue than the other reason.
