I like MCs-but that's me. I think they help keep the party flowing.

Re: MC or no MC?...
Originally I didn't think I would get one, but now I will. A wedding has alot of moving parts and its better to ensure you a person dedicated to reading the crowd and you (like during your first dance, when to ask others to join, etc.)

We didnt have one.... I relied on the craziness of my drunk family to lead the party.... I prefer not to have someone telling me how to dance and have a good time

I having an MC I think it helps get the crowd going especially if you are having 200 people.

Re: MC or no MC?...
I've been to a bunch of weddings. Some with an MC and some without. It really depends on the MC.
Can your DJ do the MCing? I've seen that many times and it works just fine.

I am not getting an MC, to me they add to the 'cheese' factor that I want to avoid. If you get a good DJ, you do not need an MC IMHO
unless your crowd will not dance unless there is an MC provoking them.

Re: MC or no MC?...
IMO - I really don't like MC's. No MC would ever provoke my family or friends to dance, it would probably have the opposite effect. If you liike them though I think $200 is a pretty good price.

IMO you don't need a MC, but I think it depends on who your dj is and also how the people that you invited are and if they are partiers and stuff....

I prefer MCs, but maybe your DJ can take over and give your DJ more responsibilities i keeping the crowd entertained...

I'm definitely pro-MC, I don't think the DJ can do both, IMO.

Re: MC or no MC?...
I'd personally definitely say yes - not necessarily to try to get people up and dancing, because that can be annoying, but just to have somebody who can sort of keep track of the flow of things - I know if it were up to me and my family, we'd probably forget to cut the cake and take 20 minutes to get people to quiet down for toasts, so it's good to have the mc to facilitate those things.

Most DJ's come with assistants too, so there will always be someone there.. Who are you booking with?

Re: MC or no MC?...
we had a great MC...Tony from Bravura...very cool and suave voice...not cheesy at all...and we never had to worry that things would run smoothly
