So.. I get home yesterday and FH is sitting on the couch with this COMPLETELY BLANK look on his face.. Holding a piece of mail.. Hmmmm So I ask.. What's the matter?? He holds up the card with all it's pretty colors.. Save the date.. His sister's getting Married My 24, 2009 in New Mexico... Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr!!!
*******************UPDATE***************************** FSIL called to see if we had received the STD and to ask me to be a bridesmaid.. I told her about our date and she felt HORRIBLE and offered to change her date... I know she's not as well off as we are, so basically we're going to change our date and spare her the agony.. My RH has dates available still for the summer and he will keep the same price.
How do you guys feel about a Friday night wedding? Or a Sunday afternoon? I'm thinking of July only because next year I get the month of July off with pay so I can do all of my last minute running around in peace and without having bridezilla moments around my co workers..LOL It will also give us a little over a month to recop from FSIL's wedding..
What do you think??

They talk all the time.. But I guess she was trying to do what we were.. Surprise everyone with the wedding. The only people who really know about our plans are his best friend and mine.
All of his family is here and we're sure 95% of them won't attend her wedding, but the real issue is that WE want to be there & we want HER here for ours. I called the country club and left a message just now. He did have a few open dates later on in July & August.. No big deal as long as there are dates available, and we'll just do a Sunday afternoon on a regular weekend instead of a Sunday night on a holiday weekend.
I'm really trying to keep with the all inclusive places but they are so far and few between.. We're on a budge and have 200+ people attending and since I don't have a creative bone in my body it would just be easier to do the all inclusive route.
I'm not mad at her because I'm sure she was just trying to surprise everyone.. Just upset.. Luckily we still have enough time to change up the date.. How disappointing.

So nobody knows about your wedding date? Is that why you're okay with changing your date?
Oh my goodness! That is a mess but there is plenty of time so hopefully either your wedding or hers can be moved back about a month. Did you order your save the dates and everything already?? I hope it all works out for you.... How stressful!!!

I was going to order STD this weekend, since we have the food tasting tomorrow..
Nobody knew about the date so yeah, I'm disappointed, but I can deal with it. I'm sure she's shooting for that date for the same reason we are.. It's a long weekend, and it would be easier for out of town guests to attend. I'm going to call her tonite...
I felt so bad for FH though, I've never seen a black man so pale.. LOL. He thought I'd go postal or something I guess. I'll keep you guys posted.

That is crazy!!!! It sounds like you don't feel she did that on purpose but I mean, how could she not remember the date of your wedding?
You are way too nice - I would not be rescheduling my wedding date (that I picked first) to accommodate her. I would have had her send an updated save the date and have her change hers - she could do it on the 4th of july - that is not too far off. You really are very sweet for being so flexible. She's very lucky to have you as a sister in law.
