I am a worry-wart by nature so obviously planning a wedding is bringing out the worst of me!!! lol I am having a small wedding b/c I litereally have 3 people in my family (a total of 60-70 guests - we haven't booked yet though) and all of a sudden today I was thinking to mysetlf - what if a lot of people can't/don't come for whatever reason?! We are obviously inviting more than our target number - but still? At least with a big wedding there is lots of 'wiggle room' but I don't have any and it makes me nervous...... has anyone else ever felt this way???
The reason i am so worried is b/c my FH is from out of state and everyone he invited is from out of state. I THINK most people he invited will come (esp family) but it still makes me nervous cause you just don't know what could come up... :(

I am the same way. We are having a little bigger wedding (hoping for 110-120 guests) but FH is from Ohio and so are all of his guests and over half of my family now doesn't live on LI anymore which means most of our guests will be traveling in. I know a lot said they are coming but saying and doing are two different things and I know it cost a lot of money for people to travel in so I am worrying like crazy!

well, since it's a small, intimate wedding, most of the people you are inviting are probably close friends and family. i'm sure they'll try their hardest to make it to your wedding, regardless which state you're having it in.

It will be okay. The number of people you have isn't going to make or break your day. Also, if you send Save the Dates and/or help your guests make travel plans, it should help get more people there.

I agree.
I am having a small wedding (inviting about 80 total) and I am hoping only 50 come. So far though, I think everybody is a YES!!!

I wouldn't worry. We're having a small wedding, and so far, we've received only yes RSVPs.
I'm sure you can go through your list and guess whether they can come, and do a rough estimate. Then plan the hall accordingly, and make sure your estimate is above the minimum by about 10%
