meat, chicken and fish, but...

OKAY!! Here's an interesting question that we've been discussing. It's kind of like a Seinfeld question:
Surf and Turf: Is it considered your meat or your fish dish????

I wouldnt consider Surf & Turf a 'fish' dish since a)Some vegatarians/vegans wont eat something that has touched red meat. So since the lobster might be touching the steak, that would kill it for them. b)Some religions forbid eating shellfish like lobster so its not a good 'alternative' to red meat.

However, if you already know that your guests dont fall into those categories then Surf & Turf is very cool and MOST people will be impressed with that option.

I just thought that surf and turf was your meat with grilled shrimp or a lobster tail added to it! I think the main portion is the meat so, I would consider it the meat course. I don't think they give a big enough seafood portion to consider it the fish option. I could be wrong!

what about twin lobster tails as a fish dish? No surf and turf.
