Re: meatballs
I had the same experience with my first meatball then I found this recipe and FH love it.. MEATBALLS: 1 lb. ground beef 1/3 cup plain dry bread crumbs 1 egg 1 tbsp. Parmesan cheese 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. peppe 1/4 cup of onions
In bowl, combine meatball ingredients, shape into 20 (1 1/2') balls; place on baking sheet. Bake at 375 degrees for 25 minutes; drain
Easy and yummy

Re: meatballs
From my bible of cooking : Better Homes and Gardens cookbook
12 ounces of ground beef/or turkey 1 egg 3/4 cup breadcrumbs 1/4 cup onions 1/4 tsp oregano 1/4 tsp salt
Mix shape into balls bake in 350 degree oven for 15-20 mins
I made them about a week ago, super quick and easy and I have the rest frozen for another dinner.
I am going to try to make meatloaf for the first time tonight. I hope it comes out edible!

Re: meatballs
mmmm...foood...
I usually take the chop meat (actually i like turkey to be healthier) and add one egg, breadcrumbs, a little parmesean cheese, parsley, basil, oregeno (a little of all three spices) and garlic powder (salt and pepper to taste if you like that).... roll 'em up.. bake until they are brown and then cook them a little longer in the sauce. This is the way my grandma always makes them so I copy, they usually taste good!

Re: meatballs
whenever i make meatballs, stuffed cabbage or recipes where you use groundmeat. Its best if you use beef, pork, veal combined to make it. In the supermarkets they even sell it together in one package.
Here is the recipe i use
Meatballs:
1/2 pound ground pork
1/2 pound ground veal
1/2 pound ground beef
2 large eggs, lightly beaten
1/3 cup grated Parmesan
4 cloves garlic, finely chopped and sauteed
1/4 cup dry bread crumbs
1/4 cup finely chopped Italian parsley leaves
1 cup pure olive oil
Salt and freshly ground pepper
Combine all the ingredients in a medium bowl, except olive oil. Season with salt and pepper. Roll the mixture into 1 1/2-inch balls. Heat the oil in large saute pan over medium-high heat. When oil is hot, fry meatballs, in batches as needed, until golden brown, but not cooked through completely. Remove with a slotted spoon to a plate lined with paper towels.

Re: meatballs
My meatballs, sort of my own concoction....
1 lb. ground beef (I use turkey) 1 cup bread crumbs 1 egg mustard ketchup splash of milk oregano, basil, italian seasoning 1/2 cup parm cheese 1 tbsp minced garlic salt and pepper
Bake in oven at 350 degrees for 30 min (turn a few times to avoid burning) and then I put them in the sauce I made while they were baking and let them simmer in there for 5-10 minutes.
FH and I love em! And they're extremely easy and quick.
