So, remember I told you girls that I was afraid that I had the beginnings of an ulcer? Well, my primary thinks it isn't that (yet), but he is sending me to a gastroenterologist (sp?).
he has given me prevacid for all the indigestion, and i have an appointment with the other doctor on the 23rd. he seems to think that i have reflux & gastritis....
god willing it's only that!

Well it is a good thing he is sending you to a GE. Stomach ulcers and reflux are not something you want to mess around with. There are some very useful drugs out there that can help you but, they need to make sure you don't have an ulcer. Good Luck!

Will you have to do an endo, I had to do one three weeks before my wedding. The postponing and rescheduling got to me.
I took nexium and zantac and it worked wonders and its all gone

yeah - i have to do the endo - the way this practice runs is that they do the initial consult first & then they schedule you in for the endo.... I already told FH about it, and he said.....

i thought that i had an ulcer at one point, i visited a gastro and was on all different meds for heartburn indigestion : nexium, prevacid, acihphex.
after having an upper endoscopy it turns out that i had slight hernia- no ulcer thank God. i stilll get heartburn ocasionally but i take achiphex and it works really well.

like i said - he put me on the prevacid.... and he said we'll see if we are going to switch from that to something else after the endo....
