meeting with florist tomorrow.............

I am meeting with patchogue floral tomorrow to discuss my bok, get prices, etc. Any advice???

Do NOT tell them your budget...tell them what you want, and ask to hear what they tell you first. If you say you want to spend no more than 2k on flowers...expect for them to tell you miraculously your price is 2k.

I had a list of what I needed. This is my list:

What I am looking for:

1 Bridal Bouquet
1 MOH Bouquet
1 Bridesmaid Bouquet
1 Throwaway bouquet

1 Groom Boutonnieres
2 Groomsmen Boutonnieres

1 MOG Corsage

8-10 low centerpieces

Gazebo flowers & draping

Escort Table
Bridal table décor
Decoration for the card table
Flower petals for the hand-held cones and for the aisle
Decorations for the favor table
Decoration of the cake table

And tell them what your color scheme is. I never said my price range. I would let them tell me what they would do and then give me a price and then we would work down or up depending on the flowers.

I agree, don't tell them your budget. Also ask them if they have references from past brides, I didn't do this, and my flowers came out disastrous. If you choose them, get everything in writing, from the time you want things to delivered to the specific color and flower of each centerpiece, bouquet and so fourth.

I had my first florist appointment this past Saturday.

I did not divulge my budget, I did stress that budget was key in these 'discretionary times'. lol. I went to a 'name' vendor and was pleasantly surprised at the result.

My quote came out to just over $2 grand.
13- 32 inch tall (I bought my own vases) orchid and curly willow CP's
5 BM boks (roses, hydranga)
2 MOH boks (roses hydrangea and stephanotis with rhinestones)
My bok- stephanotis, roses, phalenopsis, mini calla lilly and freesia with rhinestones.
1 groom
5 GM's
6 pomanders for the pews
throw away bok.
cake table
escort card table
dais
and all the bouts and corsages for family.

Like others said, have your list of amounts and also bring photos of what you like. Also the color of your BM dresses and description of your dress. Convey that the pictures are a guide but that you're open to cost cutting suggestions....this helped with my bok.

HAVE FUN!!!

OH! and see a sample before you commit to anything.
