Meeting with Officiant

Meeting with Officiant

Do you feel it is necessary to meet with your officiant in person before booking? I spoke to a nice officiant with reasonable pricing who offered what I wanted over the phone. He was recommended by my RH. Do FH and I need to set up a face-to-face meeting? TIA!

i don't think it's absolutely necessary to meet with the officiant face to face. you can do a phone interview with him/her to plan your wedding ceremony. it's a matter of comfort really.

We never met with our officant. We have spoke with him twice over the phone and he is recommended by our hall. Considering we are having a short civil ceremony and we liked him over the phone we didn't see the need at add another appointment.

I didn't know if it was really necessary, but our Officiant asked to meet with us to go over the ceremony he had sent us. We actually just met with him yesterday for about 30 minutes and now we don't need to speak to him again until just before the wedding. It might be a good idea to meet with him/her to have piece of mind, know what the person looks like, etc.

I don't know if it is necessary, but I would want to meet with all vendors that I work with. Just to get a sense of the type of person they are, if nothing else.

As long as you're comfortable with your officiant i don't think it matters if you met him face to face or just talked to him on the phone.

I would want to meet them just to go over the ceremony and formality- I would also want to meet any vendor that I am working with.
