I have no clue why I’m so nervous! I guess I don’t know what to expect...which is where you girls come in! What should I ask any potential officiant?

Don't be nervous! I didn't even meet my officiant, I only spoke to him on the phone. I think it's most important to express to him or her what it is that you want for your ceremony, and get a general feel for them, as opposed to asking a bunch of questions. JMO.

i was unexplicabley super nervous about meeting our potential officiant, looking back i don't know why, lol~my best advise isn't what question you should ask, it's to listen to them, their spirituality (if that's what your looking for), their vision of your ceremony & their personality~it's really more to see if he or she is a fit for you & fh

my parents met and spoke to each of then (we are having a priest and cantor) and when FH and i had to go we were Sh i TTing bricks...
after we sat and talked .. they showed their personality... and thats when i realized i liked them sooo much...
just listen to them, allow them to talk and make sure they allow you to talk and tell them everythign you invision and see if its somethign they can work with.

I'll be meeting with an officiant next week and we will discuss what we want out of the ceremony.
Through e-mail she mentioned some things we can do because FH is Jewish and I'm Christian, that are more cultural rather than religious in nature. We may decide not to anything like that all and keep it a civil ceremony.
The ceremony is the whole point of the wedding (otherwise you are just having a party) so it's important you are happy with the ceremony and the vows. You can ask about writing our own vows which is also popular.

We were super nerous too, we are having both a pastor and priest. (FH's catholic and im protestant) Just listen to them, they will ask you questions to see if you and your FH are good together. If they ask if you live together currently say 'no' - just a little word of advice!

don't lie, that's not a good way to start things, lol (we live together & he didn't set us on fire)

his priest was very old fashion and our friends went to him and said they lived togther and he wasnt happy about it. i guess everyone is different.
