Ugh... personality in a photog was sooo important to me, we liked one photographer's work but he weirded us out a bit, and we lucked out in finding a photographer who we liked better as a person and we liked her work better. You CAN have it all, don't settle and work with someone you can't picture yourself being comfortable with all day and after the wedding on edits and stuff.

i know!!!! it seriously disgusted me.... its one thing to not think of a competitor as a threat cuz your confident in your own work, but its a whole other thing to pull random pointless this out of left field about someone whos name you dont even know!!! like i truly could care less if the other guys house is worth 50 million, if i thin his price is worth his work and i like him im booking him
It sounds like you are not comfortable with this guy so I wouldn't even bother. I would definitely be put off by comments like that as well. Sounds unprofessional. The work should speak for itself. I wonder why the name was blocked out?

i think personality is important. one photog we met with during a showcase i really liked the work. but his co-photographer made a really stupid comment to a serious question, which rubbed FH and I the wrong way.
i asked how long do they stay? after cake cutting?
and the response was...well, it depends how liquored up your guests get, har har har.

That is awful! Me and FH recently went to a guy who kept writing down the wrong wedding date- even after we kept repeating it to him. Another guy we saw seemed to be a very pushy salesman and kept asking us who we've met with and if we were going to see anyone else. I didnt like that.
