So last night we figured out we maybe between 2-4 people short to make our minimum. What would you do? We are thinking of asking some friends but saying no gift is required (just because we won't really know until a few weeks before the wedding). I'm thinking they wouldn't honor that, I'm sure they may bring something small or a smaller money gift....which is fine. These are friends that would be on a B list, but we don't really have a B list....
Or, would you just keep it short and ask the hall to box up the food and take it home

FH and I keep forgetting to count our names and our parents name to the number of people....did you guys remember to count yourselves??
This brings me to the question: Does the bride and groom really count too? I can't imagine paying them all that money and them not comping our meals.
Really? No way! I didn't even think of that! I really don't think the bride and groom should count!!! Come on now!

I think its a good idea the people you had as single could now bring a date. I was in my friends wedding and she invited 215 to make a min of 175. Well she didn't make her min and she went to her b list. Not sure how many people ended up coming?? But my parents were on the b-list. They were happy to go and they still gave a generous gift. However, it was a girl I grew up with. SO people that want to go will and won't be offended. Its understandable that weddings are expensive.
