Melting Pot or Novita

Hi ladies...so I am trying to decide on a place for my Bridal Shower. I have seen The Melting Pot, Novita and The City Wine Cellar. Between the 3 I like Melting Pot and Novita the best. There are pros and cons about both so I thought maybe you guys could help me decide. (BTW - I am paying for it)

The Melting Pot:
Pros: inexpensive ($18 or $22 per head), entire place to ourselves, great food
Cons: party has to be done by 3:30, in order to hold 40-50 people, i would need two rooms and although they are big and very nice, they seem a bit seperate (manager states that on the day, no one notices)

Novita:
Pros: great space, great menus/packages, discount when paying in cash, packages include alcohol ($33 or $41 pp)
Cons: not fully private, at least $1k more in overall price

I really like the idea of the Melting Pot b/c it is very different. I would be opting for the salad, cheese and chocolate package. In your opinions, or for those of you who have been, is that enough food (cheese is heavy and filling)?? I would also have a select bar option (wine, beer, champaigne and mimosas).

In your honest opinions, would you think a party was cheap if all you're getting is salad, cheese and chocolate??

So far you both are making me feel much better about my top choice! I think I am just worried about some of the older people invited. My FH keeps telling me to do what I want since I am paying, but still - you want people to have a good time.

i think melting pot is really cute and different! i like a more casual shower, not a formal sit down plated luncheon...go for it!

I love the Melting Pot! You get so full from salad, cheese and chocolate. FH and I will go just for those 3 options, instead of doing the full dinner. I think it's a great idea!

For anyone interested in going for Bridal or Bachelorette - Chris is the best! He is the nicest guys and he really knows his stuff and works with you!

I love the melting pot and might have to mention this to my MOH. I wouldn't worry about the food especially if it is ending at 330. Sounds good for a lunch time shower.

I love the melting pot.....such great food! I never would have thought about having a party there because i would think it would be so expensive but now I definitely know to consider it!

I love Melting pot, and have gone there for cheese, salad, chocolate only but it was more of a snack. I personally don't think it is a substitute for a full meal. Can you add an entree?

I had mine at Waterzooi and everyone RAVED about the food. It was beyond plentyful. I also have been to a shower at Novita and it was equally as amazing.

Will opening gifts be odd or difficult if you have two separate rooms? Im not sure how that works?

I organized a work party at Novita and everything was to perfection. I wasn't paying for it but the CEO though it was worth every penny. And the semi private was extremely private and this was on a very busy thurs night.

I threw an anniversary party at Novita (downstairs private area) and it was really amazing! Just speaking from personal experience.. the food was aamzing!

As for opening the gifts, it's similar to Novita in that we will be moving to another location in the restaurant that they set up specifically for this purpose and it's one room, which is great!

As for the food feeling like a snack, I could add an entree but it takes up too much time. Plus it is lunch. I'm so confused! I like both but the money is throwing me!
