Hey All! I just found out about memorial candles...but I have some questions!
Where do you light them, at the ceremony or somewhere during the reception? DO you keep it on display? Whats up with these!
TIA!

Re: Memorial Candles
I've seen them lit and displayed during the reception...either on a separate table or on a fireplace (if the RH had one).

Re: Memorial Candles
I think they are lit at the ceremony..that's what we are doing anyway. We're going to have a memorial reading and then have the candle lit.

Re: Memorial Candles
I'm lighting them during the mass then transporting them to the RH. During cocktail they will be on a fireplace mantel. Then during the reception we're gonna set up a seperate table displaying them with 2 empty chairs and 2 coursages on the place setting.
It will be in honor of our dads.
OH, during the ceremony we'll be using actual candels. But for the reception we're going to be inserting a battery operated tea light since the velium on the glass isn't fireproof.

Re: Memorial Candles
I think they are for the RH, like on a memorial table with pictures.

Re: Memorial Candles
We're actually using ours during the ceremony. During the ceremony we plan on mentioning the two family members that couldn't be with us and then we're going to light the candle.
We don't plan on using it at the reception.

Re: Memorial Candles
We had ours at the reception, next to a picture of DH's father, on a table behind us
