anyone doing a memorial vase or candle. if so where exactly does this go at your reception. I was thinking to put a table behind us with a memoral vase and picture. my grandfather wanted to see me get married but didnt make it so i would like him to be with me at reception in memory.. any idea. thanks.

I lost my brother and Dad to cancer the past few years and what we're doing is having a candle lit during the ceremony. I'm attaching a picture. I made it myself - bought an inexpensive candle at Michael's and a piece of velum paper. Then in Word I just wrote an excerpt from the bible (since we're Catholic) and wrote 'Celebrating with us today in spirit...and forever in our hearts' with their names.
At the reception, I'm just having pictures of them around the RH. I didn't want a memorial table or anything because for me that seemed a little depressing. To have pics of them with me during happier days was how I wanted to remember them.

We did a memorial table for our dads. We had their pics and a small votive candle...during the CH it was on the piano in the front room across from the placecard table and during the recepetion they had it on the cardbox and sign-in table behind us (behind the sweetheart table). I actually never thought about where those things go but you can decide and tell your BM or you can ask him/her for ideas or where they usually put it.

THERE ACTUALLY IS A PIANO AT THE RH WHEN YOU COME IN AND ITS ACROSS FROM WHERE THE PLACE CARD TABLE. I WAS THINKING TO PUT IT BEHIND THE SWEETHEART TABLE NXT TO THE CARD BOX. WILL SPEAK TO LADY AT THE HALL MAKE SURE I CAN DO IT. THANKS ALOT FOR OUR SHARING
