What are you ladies doing in the sense of a memory candle/table or whatever. FH dad passed away almost 15 years ago and I know his mom is gonna be a mess that day to begin with so I dont want to make the table as prominant as it should probably be. I was thinking about framing a nice memory poem (which I havent found yet) that is generic and can mean whoever the person reading it wants it to stand for (my grandfather passed away 5 years ago suddenly but thats the biggest loss I/ my family has experienced) with a long skinny vase that says in memory with a single white rose in it (not sure real or silk) that way after the ceremony and reception I can give it to FH mom as a momento. What do you ladies think?

Re: Memory items
I think thats a much better way actually, maybe I should consider that!
Originially I bought 6 tall candles that I was going to make something for and place them along the fireplace behind us.

I was actually trying to think of what I was going to do last night when I was at WM. I really like your idea.

Re: Memory items
We might do a memorial candle type thing with pictures all around for our grandparents who passed. I was especially close with mine so I wanna remember them in some way on our wedding day.

Re: Memory items
I really love your idea... That way it stands for everyone that passed and it doesn't get overwhelming. (FH and I lost all of our grandparents, and I lost my dad... plus my godfather, a close cousin of his, an aunt of his, etc.) If we had that many candles it might burn the Fox Hollow down!

Re: Memory items
Thats a very nice idea!! I would hate for people to be looking at pictures of people we love who died and tearing up at my wedding!

Re: Memory items
i was going to do memory candles (will need 4). but the room we picked at our RH doesn't really have any place to put it. so i might just do bo-k charms so its a nice memory for me but not too over dramatic.

Re: Memory items
Crashing...
Here is the saying we used on the memory candle (I listed the names of the family members under the saying)
In Loving Memory
Those we love don’t go away They walk beside us everyday Unseen, unheard, but always there Still missed, still loved and very dear.

Re: Memory items
I think I may write my own poem and use a single candle or flower. I like the idea of it standing for everyone. May add the names of those who have passed on to the end of the poem as well.
