So we're at my FI's parent's house on Sunday and his father says he hopes we're not going to have a stupid video guy because its a total waste and who ever watches the video more than once anyway?
HELLO....what about having it as a part of our history? To show it to our kids???

You have to have a video. They are so great to have.
My sister didn't have one and I really wish she did (my speech kicked ass and I can't even remember what I said).
My neice watches my FSIL's video EVERYDAY...It's so cute!

Well after FIL finished his rant I said something like 'I can see why you might think that the video isn't important, and I agree it isn't nearly as important as the food or something like that, but its still something that I think we would want years later, so we will probably have a video of the wedding.' FIL scoffed at me and FI said nothing. Fortunately FIL adores me and I can do no wrong in his eyes so this hopefully won't be an issue. t's just annoying how obtuse men can be!

I can see his point ... because I am not having video, I don't like the idea of a camera man walking all over the ceremony and the party, but that is only my personal opinion. A video of personal affairs for some people is very important, but for others (like me and FI) is intrusive. But I agree that it is YOUR WEDDING and if you are paying for it, your FIL shouldn't say such things.

Personally, I don't care much about the video, but I don't think that anyone should impose their opinions on you like that! Thats just rude!

Fi doesnt want to spend money on it so we are having my brother do it. At least we will have something to remeber the day by.
