FH and I were reviewing the wording of our wedding program. Because we are Jewish and many of our guests are not, we are including explanations of our customs in short paragraphs so we do not leave anyone feeling alienated. Great idea right? Of course it is. I just never thought I'd have to take out my APA manual from grad school (FROM 10 YEARS AGO) to prove I can form a coherent sentence! I do not think he knows how many papers I corrected for my friends or how many college/grad school essays I have written - I should have 5 EXTRA masters now!
I know I don't always use APA format HERE on LIW - most of us are pretty informal - but when I write something for publication, I check, double check and triple check to make sure it is grammatically correct. I pride myself on that. Grrrrr. He has EXCEL. Can I please have WORD??? In some cases, with the program I just caved - not worth the argument. Choosing battles is gonna kill me, but make me a better person I guess

Re: Men - give me strength!!!
oh Leslie, the joys of compromise!!! My mom has always told me, choose the battles you want to fight bc there are ones that are not worth the time & effort!!! I have dealt with the same 'corrections' from FH! I never got my masters but his should have both of our names on it!!! Men I tell you!!!!

Yeah, I know that some of my thoughts and behaviors border on Bride-zilla or maybe Leslie-zilla, but I suppose that this is how marriages last - when you make those compromises. I suppose I wouldn't want a man who caved with everything. That would bore me to death. I should be grateful that he takes pride in things too. He was worried about continuity and I was worried about word choices. We are a literary match made heaven!

This is the truth! I use to get so upset when we would have disagreements but then I realized, that is what keeps our relationship going & spunky If he said 'sure, whatever you say' all the time, I would be so bored & there would never be a challenge! That is not fun!
I guess that is why we love them so much! Perfect match made in heaven!!!

How true! He did have some valid points in regard to flow, but I AM an educator for crying out loud! GEEZ!!!
