This is one thing Fh and I know nothing about. I want to suggest FH go to Mens Warehouse since there is a location close enough to all the groomsmen. How does this work? Do we go and pick out FH tux and tuxes for the GM and they go to their own locations to get fitted? Also, are their prices to rent reasonable?

That's it! It's really simple, but somehow Men's Wearhouse manages to complicate the whole thing.
They have a wide price range- they haves tuxes anywhere from $60 to $200 to rent! HTH!

Re: Mens warehouse for Tuxes
I would caution against using men's wearhouse, since they get a lot of poor reviews.
I would pick a place that has a good reputation, and where you are getting the service you deserve. To be honest, and given the small amount of time you have between when you get the tuxes and the actual wedding, good customer service is worth a small price increase in the cost of renting.
I have had good experiences with Esquire in the past. I'm sure other people on here have recommendations as well.
I wouldn't worry too much about measurements. It is industry practice that other formalwear shops will take measurements for you so that you can give them to another formalwear shop. So if you have groomsmen who are out of town, they can get their measurements taken at a local shop, give them to you, and you can give them to the formalwear shop with whom you are doing business.
The one thing I will say is that you should be careful at most formalwear shops. At even the best places, a lot of them will push outfits on you that aren't actually tuxedos. I would urge you to quickly peruse http://www.blacktieguide.com to learn about the rules for men's formalwear. Do it right, and your FH will look sharp now, 20 years from now, and 50 years from now.
Feel free to ask me any questions, either here or by FM!

my fh and i picked out the tuxes from mens wearhouse in massapequa, we have had no problems whatsoever as of yet... basically we just told the guys to go to mens warehouse at their convenience to get measured and then they will pick it up the day before. it is really convenient b/c we have a guy that lives out of state and everyone has hectic schedules so it worked out better that way.

I'm not ready to get tuxes yet, but FH has been a best mand and groomsman many times. He he rented from Mens wharehouse at least five times and never had a problem. You just pick the style you want and they put in their computer. The guys just go with your name and order their suits. I actually returned his tux two days late and they waived the late fee. I have experienced good customer service every time I went in there.

Re: Mens warehouse for Tuxes
We did not like MW at all bc DH has big shoulders/chest and a smaller waist, along with every other guy that was in our wedding, so to fit him, the jacket hung around his waist, added 30 lbs to him, and looked plain ridiculous. When he asked if they altered, the girl rudely said, 'no, and any place would be dumb if they did'. So we walked out and went to Rico's in Center Moriches, and guess what, they alter rentals just fine! We had an awesome experience there, got a better price, and took in the waist of DH's vest and jacket (and the rest of the guys) in about 30 seconds. And all the boys looked great!
If your FH and guys have straighter frames they would probably be fine but for any more athletic type build (DH has always had to have jackets taken in at the waist) you might have issues there.

Re: Mens warehouse for Tuxes
I heard a lot of mixed things about men's wearhouse so it made me nervous about using them. A few weddings that FH was in used men's wearhouse and somebody always had a problem - wrong size, ripped pants, etc.
So we decided to go with Esquire Tuxedos in Merrick on Saturday. Mike is really great there. The majority of groomsmen are out of town and we felt comfortable with them. It was by far the least stressful part of the wedding planning.
Good luck!!!

How far in advance do you have to order the tuxes from Men's Wearhouse? Also, how soon do you have to return them after the wedding?

when i went they said the guys had to get measured at the latest 2 weeks before. they pick it up the day before and are supposed to return the tux the day after the wedding.

Re: Mens warehouse for Tuxes
we had a big issue with them so i wouldnt recommend...
Dh picked his up 2 days before the wedding and it was 2 sizes to big, they said they could get it next day, but then it wasnt in, so he had to pick it up the morning of the wedding!
also they gave the wrong size vest to our best man!
unecessary stress 2 days before the wedding!

FH did not like that one of the salesmen asked him 'so...are you going to drop some more money today?' This after he spent over $300 in slacks and shoes.
So now he's going to Sal's

I haven't heard enough good reviews to cancel out the bad... So if you do go, proceed with caution lol
