Mens Warehouse ~Tuxs

Mens Warehouse ~Tuxs

Went to Mens warehouse for tuxedos this weekend and was surprised to find that the prices are much cheaper than 'Tuxedo Shops' we've been to and very nice selection. Plus, with 4 rentals we get the grooms free and the packages include everything right down to the cufflinks.

Anybody have experiences to share? It seems too good to be true.

Do a search....I've read on here that they're just as bad as AfterHours.

Only one bride sticks out as having a good experience...N.Y.Bride...

all others I've read are horrible.

That is where we plan on going for Tuxs. We have not been there yet to set anything up.

Prices were good, but we didn't have a good experience. They gave DH and at least one groomsman the wrong pants. Waiting for DH's correct pants to arrive the day before the wedding killed our schedule for the day and caused a lot of unneeded stress.

I am using Mens warehouse..I HATE to do it because I have read so many bad reviews, but quite simply it is what is easiest for all the out of towners....

Honestly...that's NOT true. Half if not 3/4 of our BP was OOT. They had absolutely no problems at all.

Big huge raves for DiRe' Formalwear in Franklin Square! Thanks to the recommendation from Kimberlybride!

TUXES:
Mens Warehouse: D+
Going there to order was good. Met with Jillian, who was VERY nice and went over the options with me a thousand times. We wanted a place that was a “chain” b/c our GM are all over the place. So this worked out good. They each went to a location near them, but 1 had to call it in. So on Tuesday of the wedding, I called and was told that they were ALL in, and can go pick them up. Well, I stop what I was doing, go there to pick them all up, and turns out DH’s is the only one NOT there… ARGH! I was SOOOOOOOO annoyed. The lady that answered the phone who told me they were there was an IDIOT when I was speaking to her, so I should have known! I was just annoyed!
SO, then we go the next day to p/u DH’s and the fit is WRONG. The neck was TOO small, and the pants TOO long. The pants were able to be hemmed up right then, but the neck was Still too small. The seamstress tried to move a button, and re-sewed it on, but it made a gap in the tie area. L We were there for 1hour and ½ 2 days before the wedding trying to solve this. Finally after the 1 ½ hours, we just said, “IT’S FINE” and took it and left. I thought I was going to kill someone. OK, so skip to the next day (the DAY BEFORE the wedding)… We speak to his dad, and ask how HIS fits, he said FINE. (GOOD!)… so when we are speaking about the vest, his mom is like, “oh, it’s a nice gray”… HELLO??? His dad was supposed to be in BLACK!!! So I called Jillian the Manager again, and told her about ALL the problems we have! PLUS, ALL the shoes came in in the WRONG style (the rounded tip point, rather than the square.. .but since ALL 6 are the same, we are keeping them, rather than risk anything not arriving on-time). She had to order the new vest, that will be picked up the MORNING of the wedding, and hope for the best! One of the GM’s tuxes was ALSO too big on the shoulders.

I would NOT recommend them for Wedding rentals.

**Added AFTER the wedding: All and All, the Tuxes looked GREAT in the end. The guys had NO trouble with them (AFTER all the problem areas were fixed) and DH looked GREAT in his!**

I just did a search and was surprised to find so many mixed reviews.

I guess its a roll of the dice like anything else.

Thanks for taking the time to post ladies!

We had a terrific experience with them and had to deal with two different stores (one in NY and one in VA)!!! Everything was there two days before the wedding. DH didn't like how his shoes were fitting (but they were the size he ordered) so they got him another pair a day before the wedding, no prob!

Our experience with them was mixed. Upon booking we were also suprised at how much cheaper they were and that they semed much more professional than the people we met with at After Hours.
But soo many things became problems after we booked with them. I don't have time to type it all now but FM me if you want the info....I would not recomment them

My brother used them for his wedding and they were not so great. The lost some measurements and when one GM went to get measured they ignored him. Then when he got someone to help him, they gave him a form to fill out and started helping someone else - and wouldn't even look at him when she walked past him. After 40 mins. he ended up walking out w/o getting measured. Then he went to another store and had no problems at all. They weren't as bad as After Hours, but they weren't good either.

Re: Mens Warehouse ~Tuxs

My FI was in his brother's wedding this weekend and they used Men's Warehouse for the tuxes.
The tuxes were fine, but the sales associate said to pick them up as soon as possible because sometimes they might make a mistake (forget to put in a shoe, wrong size of pants).
They told us that the tuxes come from a warehouse in Houston (or some other city in the South) So if there is a mistake with the order, they have to coordinate with the warehouse in that location.
The smaller tuxedo shops are able to fix a problem right away.
That being said, things worked out well with the tuxes.
Good luck.

They made quite a few mistakes with my husband's order. Luckily the groomsmen caught most of them before the wedding, but his father wore the wrong color vest to the wedding. (The store's fault). I wouldn't recommend them!

We had no trouble whatsoever. My dad, DH and 4 ushers all got their tuxes from Mens Warehouse.

ETA: we used at least 3 different locations including NYC, Staten Island and one in PA. Possibly even Brooklyn too.
