Re: menu
which type of menu are you doing? I can help you with the layered one. Where its 2 colors and then one is smaller than the other the one that has the menu printed on it is smaller and honestly you wont even need a template

Whatever you can help me would be great... I want to do something simple but I need to start practicing because I plan to do menus in English and spansh (or maybe I can do both languages in one menu so I dont have to do double the amount) anything

dont worry its pretty easy. Just go to word and go to page set up and change the settings...make the paper 4.25 so this way when you type it up and then print it will be formatted for paper that size. You can print it on the paper and then you will need to use a paper cutter, i bought an inexpensive one and you cut off half but since the menu will be centered you will cut the paper on both sides. You can measure the paper and make marks where it will be 4.25 and then you know exactly what you have left to cut. The rest is easy, all you have to do is use a different colored cardstock and use permanent double sided tape to stick it to the cardstock with the menu printed on it. Here is a pic of what i did with the two cardstocks
if you want to make it even easier on yourself, go buy the cardstock and ask them to cut one of the cardstocks(the one you are printing the menu on) to 4.25. It takes them just a few mins to do it

Re: menu
sorry here is the picture so you understand better. I used the bronze cardstock as the bottom layer, printed menu on the pink cardstock which is half the size of regular cardstock and then used double sided tape to attach the two together

Re: menu
Thanks so much (you are always so helpful) now I just go and ask for cardstock paper for both layers? or is a different paper for the one that I am going to print? and do I need a special printer to print? Also what are the sizes of the paper?
(I am sorry so many questions but I am new in the DIY industry)

yeah first decide what colors you want to do it. I used different cardstock bc the bottom one was metallic and harder to print on and the top layer was more of a linen cardstock so you can do that or if you want use the same cardstock as long as its cardstock that will work with your printer. Most ppl in the paper stores are helpful, tell them what type of printer you have and what cardstock is best. Then whichever you choose as the top layer with the menu on it, tell them it needs to be cut to 4.25, BUT i do have to say make sure you have a good printer bc feeding smaller paper doesnt always work with every printer. I actually had to buy the cardstock regular size and bought a paper cutter to cut myself bc of my retarded printer. SO keep that in mind, maybe ask if you print it on the cardstock if you can come back for them to cut it after, in case you are afraid with your printer. And buy LOTS of permanent double sided tape lol, you'll be surprised how much you use
happy to help, and good luck

Re: menu
I actually just finished printing my menus an hour ago.. I bought the blank menu cards from Michael's craft store then printed it on my own using Microsoft word. It's really easy!

Re: menu
Is that a brown table runner on the table in the picture? That looks gorgeous! Anyone know where I can find more info on that?
