Menu Opinions? WITH POLL

ok so in the mail yesterday we got the letter from RH saying its time to come in and finalize our menu

they included a lot of extra add -ons for CH and reception
my mom fell in love with the idea for a 'chuck wagon' at the CH - especially since we're having lots of kids and some teenagers - the price isnt bad either - its hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, pizza and a load of toppings!!

problem is, FH says its 'ghetto' and doesnt like it
i thought it was a fun idea for CH and yes, it would be somewhat ghetto if that was ALL we were having but theres SO much more food

opinions??

Hmmm...not sure how I feel. That usually reminds me of a Bar/Bat Mitzvah. However, if there will be an abundance of kids, it is appropriate.

i love that idea!! i think its adorable and EVERYONE will love that! especially the people who are picky eaters!

i love it

but i think it depends on what you want for your wedding

some people want an elegant 'affair' and i guess this doesnt fit that theme

others, like myself, want a party to celebrate our marriage! I mean, of course i want it to be elegant but its also a PARTY right?!

i say go for it

i mean, ALL of the other aspects of the affair are elegant and classy - but i like the idea of 'comfort foods' for the picky eaters and the kids

personally, i love the idea, and would have no prob doing that at my wedding. i'm a picky eater, and usually skip most food at the CH because it's too done up for my simple tastes. i would love to go to a wedding w/ that type of CH. i say if you like it, go for it! i'm sure you'll have plenty of guests who'll appreciate it!

Its a cute idea, but I don't know how I feel avout it being at a wedding. For me I wouldn't do it b/c I am not inviting anyone under 18 except for my neices and nephew. (my wedding list is at 430 people had to draw the line somewhere).

If its worth the money and you don't think it would cheapen the affair, then go for it. I just picture weddins as a classy event and hot dogs aren't very classy.

I say definitley go for it. Like u said, you are having a group of the kids and they will love it. They are guest too.

Its not the only food you will have to it wont look lie you cheaped out on the CH food or anything. (or 'ghetto')

Also, FH works at a RH and they do something similar for Bar Mitzvahs. Well, he said that not only do the kids go for the hot dogs and pizza, but the adults are up there too. Eventhough there is adult/fancy food. No one ever thinks its weird.

People don't stop eating those food when they turn 18. I think too much emphasis is put on certain types of food being at cocktail hours. Yes you want to have a classy affair, but as long as the food is delicious, who cares? You can have all the classy food in the world, but I think when it comes down to it.....no one can resist hamburgers and hot dogs and pizza, etc. I say go for it!!! I guarantee you have alot more takers than just the kiddies.

i think it's a cute idea, you'd be surprised how happy the kids will be and the parents of the kids. it's so hard to get them to eat

exactly- and its a cart so its not going to be a focal point or anything.

You have said how important it is for you to have all your little nieces and nephews at your wedding so its something special for them.

I would think it's 100% up to you - i think the kids would LOVE it & if I were at a cocktail hour - i'd LOVE it.....with all the 'froo froo(fancy) food - i'd love to have a hot dog, etc...

I personally would not just because it would be too much food and I think a wedding is a special event where you have the occasion to have extra special food buts that's JMO and not everyone likes gourmet food. So do it what you really want -it's YOUR wedding if you feel totally comfortable with it and you think your guest will enjoy it go for it!

im sure other RH's call it something else if they offer it
there were SO many things to choose from but the suckling pig was out and there's already SO much seafood i wasnt going to pay extra for more fish
