Menu Opinions? WITH POLL

ok so in the mail yesterday we got the letter from RH saying its time to come in and finalize our menu

they included a lot of extra add -ons for CH and reception
my mom fell in love with the idea for a 'chuck wagon' at the CH - especially since we're having lots of kids and some teenagers - the price isnt bad either - its hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, pizza and a load of toppings!!

problem is, FH says its 'ghetto' and doesnt like it
i thought it was a fun idea for CH and yes, it would be somewhat ghetto if that was ALL we were having but theres SO much more food

opinions??

I think its a really great idea. Most kids won't even touch things that they haven't seen or heard of. Parents will aprreciate their kids being able to eat and not bothering them all nite that they are hungry. Plus, any extras you add just make your wedding that more memorable. I don't think its in bad taste at all, its not like thats the only thing you are serving.

GAH, I'm torn!

My FH would 100% agree with your FH. I know there was a lot of talk on here a few months ago about having a cart that can have fast food or breakfast foods come to your RH and hand the food out to guests as they leave. I told FH about it and he HATED that idea for the same idea, at least if the cart was handing out fast food (he didn't like the breakfast because he felt our reception wasn't ending late enough).

But, I think it sounds REALLY fun.

DO you have pictures of it? I really think a lot of it depends on how it is carried out. If it is set up looking super trashy, then I guess I say no since this is your wedding. If they manage to present it in either a classy way OR in a lowkey sort of way where it's not sticking out like a sore thumb - then go for it!

I think it's a cute idea. I say go for it.

I'm sure it won't look that out of place and I think people would dig it.

could go both ways. if FH doesnt like it though I wouldnt do it.

parents will prob appreciate the more 'fun' food for the kids

but I also see FH's side to it. it IS a wedding...there are times for hotdogs and hamburgers

your the bride if you want it get it!!! you are right if thats the only thing you were having i would say ghetto. But you have so much other food in your CH , your just doing it for the kids and teenagers go for it!!

I don't think it's ghetto at all, I think you should do it. We went to a wedding where after the wedding they had a wagon outside with pretzels, hotdogs, fries and white castle burgers. No one thought it was ghetto, everyone thought it was a cute touch and we still talk about it. Their wedding was 3 years ago.

I was originally thinking of doing the outside van with the pretzels and such but i like this idea better

we went to a wedding where they had a hot dog stand during the reception and it was weird...but it wasn't sit down dinner, it was station service...aside from the hot dogs there was a pasta station, a carving station, etc. i didn't like it for the reception.

BUT if you have it for the cocktail hour i think it's a great idea! most kids aren't into the fancy stuff at CH so i think they'll love the hot dogs and stuff.

i would do it - i LOVE that kind of stuff - to be honest id enjoy eating hot dogs more than any of the food that is going to be at my CH

and you are getting married at a beautiful place -so i dont think it would make it look ghetto at all - and you said you are having a lot of kids - so i think its totally appropriate....
